Tatjana Patitz

ops! probably I wasn't clear! sorry! my fault!
I was saying the opposit actually...

i was saying that they were the models of my teen-age, so in my mind they have been THE models... but since last spring when I found out amanda moore, and then daria, erin wasson, diana, elise... well, I must admit that I prefer these new girls to the old ones... probably because they're more human, they just don't have that aura... those supermodels were incredibly beautiful, with no defects and we 'loved' them for this reason... but these new girls have something, something I like more... it may also depend that I'm a woman, so I like a certain kind of women... it may also depend that then kate moss came and changed everything...

no problem, I got it and I understand you, I'm a man so I prefer the old ones, the fashion world is pure fantasy so If I'm gonna dream I prefer to do it with the most stunning women in the world.

There are tons of freaky girls ala Gemma Ward out there, there's nothing special on them, but when I see a statuesque beauty like Tatjana Patitz it's like wow! In my opinion the fashion world needs real beauties to get famous again. :innocent:

well, it's also true those were the '80s and the early '90s... they were very different years from these... I don't know if there are the conditions.
I see that men tend to like the brasilians, but most of them are vulgar. the supermodels were elegant, classy.
don't speak to me about gemma and her clones. poor girl, nothing against here, but she's dull in most of her pics. me I'm totally in the daria side!

you're totally right, that era is unforgettable, the girls were so powerful that the clothes of the designers were ignored in the fashions shows, every thing was like "Oh that's Linda!" and "wow, Cindy is here".

Photographers like Ritts, Meisel, Demarchelier, Weber and Lindbergh shot their best pictures due to the quality of the girls at that time.

oh the great days.

You know it. You couldn't forget the girls thats why they were so popular. Now its like you forget them, which = no more real supermodels(widely known great topmodels).

As a woman I can see your point of being more conditioned to the models today. However, I prefer the old ones b/c I can look at a Kate, Gemma and the rest on the street in normal life. I've never seen anyone in real life that looked like Tatjana, Naomi, Linda, Christy, Cindy, Stephanie, Claudia, Iman, etc. I prefer the dream and the fantasy, and I think most do thats why there is not another era like it or a group of proven SUPERMODELS.

yeah, I understand your point too. as much as I do with 90s_fan.
I've to say though that I don't happen to see girls like daria on the street so often! maybe my preference for the current girls also depends on the fact that I'm gay and now I find the Supermodels too heterosexual (I'm speaking about their eds and ads). they're not my kind of girls anymore, I prefer more ambiguous and mysterious women now.
but I still must have a poster of 19 year old and very fresh claudia schiffer somewhere ... I liked that poster at that time, now I wouldn't buy it...

Now that you've explained your 'lifestyle' it makes more sense how you would like these girls more. Were as someone like me likes womanly models, we want to achieve that ideal. I just happen to see females more with the modern model looks, but if I ever see a girl who looked close to a Super even as a heterosexual woman I would be  .

The photographer is Steven Meisel?

Most likely, but since I wasn't sure and I scanned it, I just didn't name.

You are too much:lol: ! The last I saw of her was in like 2004(maybe 2003) I believe for 'When Supermodels Ruled The World'. She pretty much looks the same. I remember her being kind of down, because she wanted kids, but was having horrible back problems. Even if she doesn't have the problems anymore, I think it's too late for her too have them now:cry: . Here are another set of beauties(where she is listening & waiting for you)! Photo Souce:tatjanapatitznet

Tatiana has a son and another baby on the way.

Thanks for that, I read an article about her back & baby issues. It must have been from the mid/late 90's. I never forgot it b/c I thought is was sad. But I'm glad she was able to overcome those issues.

this is my absolute fav pic of Tatjana, she was so sexy but very classy, voluptuos and elegant at the same time, there aren't girls like her these days

here she was styled like Maria Callas, the picture of course by Herb Ritts (who else?) for British Vogue 1990
