Tattoos

everyone does feel pain on a different level, so it´s hard to tell some places hurt or not.

all i - and i guess everyone else with a tattoo - can tell you: it´s not a "ouch, it hurts like hell, i cant handle the pain. it feels like needles slit my skin" - pain. i got 5 tattoos, and the pain was not like you image it, when you get your first tattoo. also you forget the pain easily. it´s not that painful like everyone says. so if you only dont get a tattoo because you are afrait of the pain, dont worry. it´d not that painful. it´s like pain on a easy to handle level. i dont know how to say throu :p

after a while you body sends out natural painkillers.
mine is on my ankle bone. it hurt some. but i stood for 40 min with my leg proped on a stool

yer the one on my ribs made my eyes water...very uncomfortable position as well, i had to lay on my side, on this tiny tiny bench and i had to hold on to the edges in order not to fall off, ugh so so painful

i think the pain is also a part of your own tattoo.
and its certainly not that unbearable afterall.

I want to get a tattoo of this drawing by Pablo Picasso, probably on my wrist.

I have read in the forum that you should always go custom. So i wonder if this tattoo is common?

i personally havent seen it on anyone yet, its a wonderful idea...if it means something to u and u like it u cant go wrong IMO

I recently turned 18 and have had plans to get my first tattoo and I was hoping to get more down the track, but I was wondering if anyone has not gotten a job or something like that because of their tattoo/s? Because I have to start looking for work soon and was wondering whether it would be much of an issue?

i like tattoos that are not always on display and easy to hide (just in case) not only in job situations but also when it comes to more formal events like weddings or funerals...thats just me personally tho
ur from Sydney, i dont know what its like there or what ur profession is/in which area ur looking for jobs...
i worked in bars, cafes, vintage shops, offices in the UK and never had a problem but as i said, my tattoos are easy to hide

i like victoria beckham's tattoo down her neck dedicated to her husband. so elegant, decided to get something like that. can anyone advise a good tattoo parlor in london, england? i'll be really grateful for any help. plus, how do i go about looking for one?

i dont live in london but i only know of two shops with well known artists

frith street tattoo in soho http://www.frithstreettattoo.co.uk/

or Jayne Doe http://www.myspace.com/jaynedoetattoo

i'd suggest checking out the shops and speak to the artists to make sure you like them and their style for the tattoo you want. you can check out pictures of their work on the sites above. hope thats of some help.

^ thanks fairy, yeah i suppose there are certain professions where tattoos are fine... i was just wondering if anyone had had any troubles.. because i guess it's something you have to think about alot beforehand

i have 2 - and mine are hidden [lower back-on my side of ribs] i personally think that some tattoos [ depending on the design] should be hidden...my friend got a heart on her wrist but its big like 5cmx5cm and it looks so tacky and cheap.....and being in a place that people see it all the time they are like  i know her workplace dont like it...however you can cover some up depending where they are...... i would reccomend though for ur first tattoo get it somewhere slightly hidden.....:flower:

my friend posted this on another forum and I am in love with it! I wouldn't get the exact same thing, but I think a finger tattoo similar to this would be so gorgeous

beautiful! my tattoo artist always told me finger tattoos fade really fast though. a friend of mine got "trust" tattooed on his and literally a week later it was half gone. :(

thats true because the skin on your palms and feet are different (i think it renews faster?!) i have one on the side of my finger its only a tad faded so im gona get it touched up and also planning another one on a different finger.

that's what i was told as well. you get advised to have your tattoos 'refreshed' every five years or so anyway though. if you really want it, go for it, just think about whether you can maintain having it refilled ever so often.

Michelle -

That is a pretty tattoo! I love feather tattoos...I have been thinking about getting a peacock feather on my side for quite some time.
