Tattoos

i wonder, if you get a tattoo on your abdomen/stomach does it become permanently distorted if you get pregnant?? :ninja:

I want my zodiac sign written in arabic on my ankle. And a Panther prowling in the night on my back. Since I love the night and felines...:brows:

I too agonized over the decision! But it was exhilarating to do something that can't be undone. If you don't want to regret it, you need to be cheesey and imagine yourself older and try to think about what will make you smile even then. I chose a small intricate fairy that's placed directly on my left hipbone and I will never regret her! I had drawn all over myself to figure out where I wanted it. In the case that I ever get pregnant I will pray for the best however.

okay, to all germans:
i wanted to get a star like the one of ashlee and the guy said it´s 55€. i was like wtf. that´s so expensive. is that normal?

im not german but i can answer that. No its not expensive. You have to consider the artist will use;
new needles
new ink
a new little cup to hold the ink
A bandage to put on it when its done..that all costs money

there is always a minimum price (where i had my tattoo done in london (and its tiny) the prices were £30 and up.

£30 is 45€.... hm but i want a tattoo but i have no money *crys*

It depends. If you moisturise no.. but you could get a streach mark through the design that would alter it slightly.

If you want a tattoo on your abdomem and are planning on having kids aim to get it LOOOW down (around the hip bone area) Avoid the soft 'tummy' area.

I don't know what I think of tattoos...I used to want one, but now I'm sure I would get too used to it.

But some kind of a "secret club" tattoo would be fun ie those that film noir ladies have in their thigh.

why don't you get it covered? a good tattoo artist can make a beautiful desing over it, and you can't even tell that it used to say your ex's name :flower:

I thought of that. But I'd just rather not have one there at all. Because it's in a spot where if I gained any weight or got pregnant it would get distorted.

I have a question...what is the symbolism of a tattoo that is a half moon cresant and a star? :flower:

As an experiment at one stage during the 1950s, girls who joined the WRAC - Women's Royal Army Corps - in the UK had a small dot tattooed on the tummy during induction. The scheme was dropped after one girl got a magnifying glass and had a good look at the dot, which read: If you can read this with the naked eye, you're pregnant.

I believe that is the islamic religious symbol? someone correct me

adi - it shows how perfectionist the tattoo artist you go to is. it's such a beautiful design. to me, it also feels so personal for some reason
tess - i really like your tattoos, love the fact that the star is not in the middle but on the side. what does the other one say?

Utter nonsense. Tattoos cannot be done in detail. Lettering has to be pretty large because lettering that is any smaller than say size 16 times new roman on a computer screen, will eventually bleed together
