ok. I'ts just a silly question really, I saw this movie in my french class when I finished my exams ("La Boum", I DONT recommend it :ninja: ), and we were watching it with subtitles (in french aussi), and the girl there sometimes said "ouais" instead of "oui", and I was wondering if it's another way of saying it or...? :p

Yep, it's more or less like saying "yeah" in english; you won't find it in school books, but everybody uses it...;)

p.s.
You can also say "mouais" sometimes (it's still a "oui" but a bit more doubtful...:p)

Would someone be able to teach me how to say,

"I had such a wonderful time with you last night."

and...

"You're so handsome."

in Icelandic? And also in Swedish? Thank you in advance... :flower:

The closest for the first one according to my bf is "Ég skemti mér vel í gær" which means I had fun last night.

"Þú ert svo myndarlegur" means you (a boy) are so handsome, sorry though, I don't know any Swedish

2) Du är så snygg

I am glad I am not Swede! :o:lol:

LOL at the wacko smilie

Oh, my Phonetics teacher told us to take a look at this website...
http://phonetics.ucla.edu/course/chapter1/chapter1.html

It has the International Phonetic Alphabet, but you can click on the phonetic symbols and listen to the pronounciation of each one. She calls it "The Talking IPA" hehehe

It's cool, and could be helpful with pronounciations if you have the phonetic writing of the words you wanna say.

some of the audios are funny though
or maybe I'm just silly

^the IPA is really fun actually, if you take any linguistics classes you have to learn it, it was basically the only fun part of linguistics, and the only tests I did well on!
