Teen Vogue September 2014 : Kendall Jenner by Emma Summerton

I don't like the covers but the last picture witht the bleach eyebrows is great I have to say

i like the first one, the one with the hat is so cheesy and horrible

She will be the next Cara, and I can't stand either of them.

Ugh!

I am looking at her as a model, and that's the problem. Although she doesn't look that bad in the last pic, the more they transform her (bleach her eyebrows, etc.) the better she comes off in my opinion. I just don't think she knows how to emote or pose to save her life. Is she a cute girl? Yes. Is she a model that I want to see on magazine covers? No.

This so much. If you want to be a model, be one. But please show some emotions, give some energy. She always looks either blank or boring. Obviously people then think she gets jobs because of her family because she's not that good of a model.

I also have nothing against her or the Kardashians, but I like them as amusement and nothing else. Kendall is indeed a pretty american girl but she is far away from being a model. Let's be honest, if she wasn't part of the Kardashian/Jenner family her dreams to model would've remained just dreams.

IMO she has the wrong idea about what modeling is, like she tries to look always pretty because that is what a model do. When stylists do something to alter her looks (like the bleached eyebrows) is when she looks the most interesting.

The "2 covers, collect both" banner is so lame and try hard... and the little heart makes the mag look so childish.

Kendall's covers a bit larger. I think that the images within the editorial would have made for stronger covers. The hat image is growing on me. I see nothing wrong with her being on the cover - she's cute and I'm pretty sure she'll resonate with the magazine's target demo, but it would be nice to see some images with more vibrancy. I just can't get into the washed out feel of these - though the hat one is a step up.

I am actually a Kendall fan but I don't like this!

This sort of styling/image doesn't work for her, she's not versatile (and I HATE that word!) enough to pull it off. She's the type of model that needs all the bells and whistles (heavy make up/styling) to really pop. This just showcases how distinctly average she can look.

Eh, it is fine if she only sticks to Teen Vogue. I don't see her on any other prestigious editions like Vogue Paris, Vogue Italia etc. though.
"People didn't want to take a chance on me, I think because I was sort of known," the teenage starlet says. "They were a little bit on the fence about it. Some people might think that what I've done before made it easier for me to get jobs, but it was actually a disadvantage. I had to work even harder."

i still have the premiere issue if teenVOGUE with Gwen Stefani c. 2001 and i even bought a second newsstand copy cuz i loved the magazine so much and what it represented. the editorial team and the content they produced was just as exciting and consistent, if not more so than it's 'adult' counterpart.

teenVOGUE didn't pretend to be anything more than it was, a high fashion glossy with pages of over-priced designer goods which when effectively styled either looked completely out of this world expensive or like you bought it at the thriftstore. Either way the likes of Camilla Nickerson, Elissa Santisi, Thomas Schenk, Frederike Helwig, Raymond Meier, up and coming models like Caroline Trentini and Jessica Stam showed us how to style, style the stuff we already owned and make it our own.

The first view years of publication, really set the bar for teenVOGUE in terms of editorial content and from a design standpoint.....Fast-forward around 2010 to present and i'm flabbergasted by the utter lack of design sophistication and vomit-inducing covers. Exhibit A, Jennifer Lawrence as a nightmarish, merging of Barbie with a life-sized stick of butter: My jaw-dropped when I saw this on the newsstand.

^ This kinda stuff is horrendous. To me Kendall's covers are a breezy, easy on the eyes step up from the norm for teenVOGUE. Somebody remembered the Art Director for these covers. Especially taken into the context of teenVOGUE's competition, these two covers are miles above, the likes of seventeen or NYLON. Now THAT sh*t is cancer-inducing for the corneas. To me these teen covers are all blurring together into a mushy, indistinguishable mess. Which is even sadder when considering how unique unto themselves and instantly recognizable they used to be.

So true, the bar for teen magazines has really been lowered. I almost died when I saw this headline on Seventeen awhile back:

"Look Hot In Your Jeans!!! - 250 Pairs so Perfect You Wont Be Able To Stop Looking At Your Butt"

Since you know, the highest thing our teenage girls can aspire to is looking hot enough to check out their own posteriors.
