wmagazine.com'Westworld' Might Be Over For Now, But Tessa Thompson Is Still Hitting the Town
The 'Westworld' star is seeing blue at Julia Restoin Roitfeld's Marché Bleu.
Who: Tessa Thompson.
When: Wednesday, December 7.
Where: The preview party celebrating Julia Restoin Roitfeld's Soho-based, Paris-inspired holiday market, Marché Bleu, in collaboration with Grey Goose in New York, New York, December 2016.
What: A navy blue motorcycle-style jacket with embroidered details, a coordinating navy lace dress (both by Jason Wu), and platform shoes in navy, ivory, and gold by Gucci.
Why: When you're attending an event called Le Marché Bleu, the dress code is practically a given. Tessa Thompson nails the all-blue look without being too matchy — her jacket, a darker navy than the rest of her look, contrasts with the mottled royal-and-navy variations of her skirt. A small bucket bag adds a bit of edge, while platform heels by Gucci are playful and a bit nautical. (It seems that a slight nautical edge is the look of the season.) So Westworld might be on hold, but Tessa Thompson isn't about to let us forget her name.

elle.comOn how traditional roles never worked for her:
“I think our ideas about what a young black person or a young Mexican person or a young white person should be like weren’t as expansive then as they are now. It made me think I had to fit into a box. The one-dimensional girlfriend or the sassy black friend—those weren’t going to work for me.”
