Just a tip for the Blogspot bloggers. I'd love if people could put a "Followers" widget (from the layout section in your dashboard) in their sidebar for example, as it's SO easy to follow your favorites and see new updates at once. I don't use Bloglovin that much, so this is by far the best way for me to follow my favorites :)

well, I'm a bit back on mine, it's in the signature.
I had a long time without anything, but I'm into putting stuff back on now. :)

getpalmd aw thanks for the tip! at first I used "followers" widget but I only have 4 followers when others have hundreds  so I removed that. hehehehe. I'm using Bloglovin right now. and only got 1 follower.:lol:

I only have 7 folowers, but I know that people are reading it by other means. If you get Feedjit, it tells you how people are viewing your site and quite a few people must have it saved in their browser or visit it from other sites. It's a long process to gain readers, but eventually it'll happen.

Just wanted to add to this whole "follower" conversation...

Don't worry about your follower count, after all, even the most subscribed to and popular blogs out there now, once upon a time, started with just a couple followers too. It takes time, but besides that, it also shouldn't matter too much...

I'm actually thinking of removing the widgets and boxes I have that display all my followers, to make the statement of: it doesn't matter how many followers you have, just do your thing. Not that I don't appreciate my hundreds of followers (I  you all, I do) but I'm not sure it's necessary for me to show them all off in my sidebar. :ninja:

Yes, there are other ways readers follow one's blog. I can see from my dashboard in wordpress that someone is following my blog through Google reader (didn't know such thing exists) Some other people may just bookmark your site (that's what I normally do with the blogs that i follow.

It really does take time before you get a lot of followers. O_O I have been blogging for a month and I'm satisfied with my blogviews. :shifty: lol. My only problem is to sustain my creativity so that I can continually have something to blog about. HAHAHA!

I agree. I don't have many followers but I know that people read my blog because of comments and I also have a counter so I know how much traffic I am getting and where it comes from. I do it for myself more than anything. It's nice to get comments but it's not the be all and end all.

I only have 20 followers and 60 subscribers on google reader (thanks to whoever mentioned it above ha haha) and I already think that is HEAPS hahaha, doesn't take much to please me!

Does anyone subscribe to the same blog or page, using more than one method of subscribing? :flower:

Just wondering, as I added up my subscriber numbers from Google Reader, Bloglovin', Blogspot, and Blog Networks, and found that I'm only two shy of 1,000 readers. I'm curious now though, if some of those subscribers have subscribed using more than one of those methods, or whether I really have 998 different people subscribed to my blog. (There goes my orginial plans for a little anonymous online journal.)

hardtochase yea I also have a counter and the traffic is not bad for a 3 months-old blog. I love this widget.

Sometimes the people you follow on blogspot get added to your google reader, so you may have duplicate readers that way. Though not everyone is aware of google reader, nor has a blogspot account, so I'm sure you have a fair amount of readers.

Oh okay, was wondering about Blogspot and Google Reader, they seem to be connected... also, I wonder what it means when Blogspot followers have a little Google logo on their follower icon...does any know what that means?

Anyway, thanks for the insight, kbella! :flower:

When i added the Bloglovin follower thing about two months ago i first had 5 followers, but its increasing quite fast, now i have 43. Having few followers in the beginning is just normal! :)

I don't know what that means, but what I have also realised is that people who follow your blog privately will not show up on your homepage, so you may have even more followers than you thought!
