I love Scouse accents!

I dont really. People from down south or other coutries say i have one but people around here dont think i do. werid lol

aww i love the scouse accent its a new discovery of mine- on the right person tho not a scally one, a slightly posh soft one!!

have only just started discovering how great the north is, have recently visited liverpool and manchester as well as living in leeds at the mo, and they are such great places. really funky and modern. i do miss london loads tho -cool places to hang out and people watch like westbourne grove and primrose hill- so cool!

Its werid I dont like manchester and liverpool that much cos ive got bored of them but i culd see the appeal if you didnt live around here.

Hi just wondering if you guys can help me?
I'm moving to London end of next year and was wanting to work in either retail or office work.
What is the pay like for both?
In Australia retail pay is anything from $15-$17 per hour, and office work is the same. I would be looking for either full-time or part-time work.
If this is the wrong thread to post in I apologise :flower:

Thanks in advance :flower:

$16 (AUD) = £6.75

In london, for retail and office the average starting pay per hour either full-time or part-time is around the £6.20-£6.50 mark, so very close, yes.

I love the UK, i especially love it in London - great shops!!! Plus our accent is so hot :p !!! I wish American actors would stop trying to do the accent because they always get it so wrong its just embarrasing.

Ohh i didn't see this topic :D I have a slight yorkshire accent and no problems with it!

I can't imagine being anything else bit English, we're just brilliant!

the people on my uni course keep taking the mick out of my accent:cry:

they keep saying those geordie phrases such as " gannin' doon the toon" and "champion"

^^^ I have to admit that I am partial to the odd joke about the northern accents. take the mick out of their accent then! my teacher does it to my class every lesson!

Ahh yes, the good ol' 'mock the geordies' bit.
Some people thought I was irish  but some realised I was geordie, and took to saying 'eee like pet, nickastle' 'whay aye man'

people at uni have taken to take the piss out of my accent which is annoying!.. but i have the come back of well why the hell did you come to uni in newcastle then:rolleyes:

i just have to live with the fact that people like to take the mick!

My favourite thing about Britain at the moment is the spirt, look how everyone picked themselves up after the London bombings.

Thing which made me think we are crazy today is the suggested bid for the world cup. We got the olympics, isn't that enough? Surley it would be a huge drain on tax payers money?! Especially you Londoners!

I think I must have the accent too, hope its not too broad though  I love all the english accents but I am one of those who always guess the wrong accent. Bit like thinking a geordies was irish, sounds very much like me :innocent:

I have a decidedly London accent, some ppl call it 'cut glass'.....surprises ppl I think since I'm also Chinese! Recently I have discovered Yorkshire accents on a guy is v. cute. Irish and Scottish if they're strong can be tricky to understand.

I feel like I identify more with being a Londoner than being British.....I love it here so much. It's just fab fab fab.

Sorry to post in such an old thread, but HI! Another Brit here!

Londoner, currently living in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.:(

Love the UK.

Best things? Our sense of humour, David Beckham's right foot, Fish and Chips and Carry-On films!:D

I have different accents, so let's not even go there. I use my 'cut glass' accent when I write.

My favourite thing about England is clearly William Blake.
