tFS mix tape/cd project!

yay!

i'm so happy they arrived safely!! the post office made me re-package them because i had used duct tape

the first CD is more autobiographical - a lot of things from my childhood (my parents' awesome record collection) and the minnie riperton song was a 'hit song' that i heard everday on the schoolbus radio! and it starts with a german poem - german was my first language (although i don't speak it any longer) and then there's a bunch of songs connected to college years...

and the second one is a mix of a lot of things i've listened to over the last 10 years, most of them connected to memories of times/places/people

and i'm so glad you're enjoying them!

Ooo how did you manage to change your username (without starting a new account)? I've gotten ever so bored of mine (and not to mention that I've gone off Hye, so it's a bit naff proclaiming my unfaltering love for her in my username when I don't even visit her thread anymore... )

Old favorites that I was delighted to hear again: David Bowie, Black Sabbath, The Jam, UB40 - I haven't heard those songs in ages, and have been craving to hear Paranoid for a while now
New favorites that I didn't know: Faithless, Black Box, Daft Punk

Also received a very nice letter and liner notes, and the cover is amazing - a collage of bits of poster "ripped from the streets of Newcastle" with indescribably cool-looking black stitching designs (lightweight yarn? heavy thread?) and some blue ink doodles and spots. I don't think I can make a scan that will do it justice but if I can I will post it.

Ohhh Yay tangerine!

I'm so glad you loved Black Box and Faithless...they're the two that I thought you'd dislike the most. (but two that I like the most at the moment) The Black Box tune started me back on my love for dance/house music, and faithless's album is great...if you like that song then I recommend it! Also the daft punk album...fantastic!...I can send copies of them to you if you want, just drop me a PM.

I'm glad you liked the cover art too ...yes it's lightweight yarn, I've been using it alot lately to stitch into paper with...and notice the nice tangerine bit of the poster ?...from me to you

estella and i will be making the matches this weekend and getting them out to you guys as well. it's a little bit later into the month than normal, but are you guys comfortable having the deadline the end of january? or should we combine jan and feb (since feb is a short month anyway)? i haven't talked to estella about this (just thought of it) but we could possibly give you 2 matches and you'll have through feb to get them out. what do you guys think?

What do you mean by two matches ?? Do you mean that we'll have two people to send our mixes out to?? Also, what's the theme again (sorry, just need to confirm this so I don't stuff anything up )??!!
