If only because it pisses Beyonce off. Did you see her fake smile when Jen won? I bet Matthew Knowles was seething with anger. In his mind Dreamgirls was supposed to Beyonce's Oscar performance.

Personally I don't feel like Jennifer was the BEST performance but honestly I don't feel as though the Oscars are a good judge of best/worst. I think they can be at times but mainly they are a political / publicity event focusing on whoever is most popular or has crafted a body of work that deserves recognition. Its so hard to judge, some years you'll look back and see that the exact right person won and other years you'll see that each performance was so good that no one can say what was best. I feel Jennifer won because she is this years breakout star, the Cinderella story. Is that fair? No but there is something magical about her story. I also feel as though the other actresses nominated either have won already or will be nominated again soon. Cate Blanchett always gives a compelling performance but I want to see her win Best Actress, she already has an extremely well deserved Supporting Oscar.

and i can understand being happy for jhud but being happy that beyonce didn't get anything what the bloody hell did she do to you so for just having a dream of winning an oscar and tony in addition to her grammies you gotta hate her and be happy when someone triumphs over her? Good God.

Haha, you guys are soooo not theatre people! No musical lovin' here. It's funny given how popular musicals used to be with the Oscars.
