The 4-5 piece French wardrobe combinations thread

I could really use some thoughts on what to wear my Stam with. I love that bag to pieces but I find that there is not a lot of things in my wardrobe that it goes with. I mainly wear it with a black/stripes combinations and a certain pair of honey-coloured nubuck sandals and that is just not enough. Maybe you've got some clever ideas since you have seen so much of my wardrobe.

^ I think it would look great with any monochrome look... you do have a lot of blacks and whites, so I think you can wear it with a lot of your wardrobe. Other than that, I'm not sure whether you would want to incorporate that tone in your wardrobe by buying other pieces in it to make it easier. It is a lovely bag.

^I think it might brighten up an all navy outfit, with gold accessories.

I can't remember, but do you have a white summer dress? It will probably look good with tan sandals and a white dress.

Maybe you need another accessory in this shade? A pair of sandals or other flats? Then it would look good with most tops and with jeans, I think. It is an expensive bag, shame if you don't get any wear out of it. Good excuse if you want to go shoe-shopping;)

It will also go with your own tan, if you aquire one:D You are tanner than me, at least:lol:

Thank you for your good advice ladies. I will have to try to include it in more monochrome looks.

It does also go great with my white summer dress and tan sandals Eizhowa.

Unfortunately I do not own anything navy, and I am not really looking into investing in pieces in similar colours since they do not go well with my colour scheme.

I do have a bunch of things it goes with; the honey coloured heeled sandals, tan sandals, my prada shades, the Malene Birger striped cardigan, my Filippa K striped blouse and a striped peplum jacket from Masai but that does not seem like a whole lot.

What kind of accent colours could be worn with it? Maybe something simple like nail polish or a scarf could do the trick. I think it looks nice with orange but otherwise I am lost.

I think there is something very retro-ish about the bag, so I like the idea of wearing it with your A.P.C striped sweater, and maybe a black skirt or shorts?

Well... Turquoise nail polish is very "in" right now:innocent: Think you can pull it off?

That might be an idea, yes. With a skirt or jeans. I do not feel comfortable wearing shorts.

I am very conservative regarding nail polish so I do not see myself wearing my nails turqoise :p and really I am more into finding a contrast color. Maybe pink?

betina, I remember you did a pastel look, with your pink leather jacket and taupe jeweled ballets and this bag, that I really loved. I have capris more or less the color of your ballets, that would be a good basic if you don't already own that would work well with this ... I can also see this with greys, believe you have some. If it were mine, I would wear with ivories--I have several pieces, including a skirt I really like.

Wedding

This is the outfit I wore to the wedding.

  • Creme overcoat
  • Gold Sandals (similar)

I accessorized with a gold bangle my grandmother gave me, and a pair of gold earrings.

@Ta-ta: thank you for your advice. I have an ivory top - I think it would look nice with that one. Today I am wearing it with a white dress, tan sandals and some colourfull bracelets.

Sounds nice with the pants but I have a fear of pants that are patterned or bright coloured. I simply can not do it.

@Eizhowa: Such a nice outfit - much better than denim cut offs ;) What happened to the nude heels?

Betina, Thank you! I decided to go for shoes that were already broken in. Also, if I went with closed shoes, I wouldn't have an excuse to not wear stockings:innocent: I have never found a pair that looks good against my skin...

That sounds reasonable. Funny though, since most of my closed heels fits best without stockings. The shoe will slip of my feet when wearing those.

This is not a very good photo at all, and a bit weird since I cut part of it off... but it's probably the only outfit-showing picture I'll have in a long while ;)

my picture

I got the skirt in August '12 for an impressive 6€ from Oasis;
The t-shirt I bought last month at Stradivarius;
I might have been barefoot here but other than that I was wearing white H&M plimsoles I think I got in 2008.

I think posting a picture is so brave... I don't know how you guys do it. And Betina is setting crazy high standards... Not everyone has a personal photographer, you know:p

Life is so boring when you have days off, and all your friends are on holiday... So I figured I might as well do a haul of wardrobe combinations.

The first:

  • Grifoni jeans (July 2013)
  • Acne scarf (July 2013)
  • Cashmere sweater (Feb. 2013)
  • J Crew Ballet flats (*not pictured) (Jan. 2013)
  • HM blazer (July 2013)
  • Balenciaga City (April 2013)

Still wearing my cashmere, as you see... Ah, Norwegian Summers...^_^

Second:

  • Balenciaga city
  • HM blazer
  • Helmut Lang trousers (April 2013)
  • Noa Noa blouse (Jan. 2013)
  • Ecco Lille (Aug. 2012)

Third:

  • Ecco Lille
  • Iris and Ink silk shirt in Sand (May 2013)
  • DvF cropped trousers (July 2013)
  • Leather Tote (November 2012)

A very simple outfit, but I think wearing a silk shirt with a pair of cropped, perfectly fitting trousers is such a luxury it doesn't need much...

You are blowing my mind with your cashmere in July  It was 97 degrees here today, and it was all I could do to try on a cashmere blend sweater in the comfort of the air conditioned mall ...

@Eizhowa: So sorry ;) No personal photographer though, but having a fashion blog for 4 years will turn your family and friends into such.

Love your outfits, especially the last one with the silk shirt. I am not wearing a lot of wool these days since we have been extremely lucky with the weather.
