I just bought a new body suit for $10! I dont think that I would fit in any of the ones I used to have so I just went out and bought a new one. Its just a plain black, Im taking baby steps embracing this comeback...

How can we update wearing the bodysuit? What would you combine it with?

is there a good place to buy rock shirts besides ebay?

90's comeback...hmm, let's see:

-poet shirts
-colored jeans
-jean skirts
-bodysuits
-stirrup pants
-long blazers

I'm already seeing some of these things coming back...

and how about the "lovely" denim overalls? i wonder if those will come back as they were then..

i love the early 90s.....the neon, the slim fit figure hugging dresses, harsh black&white....it's interesting to see how people are updating it and making it fresh.

though i whole-heartedly do NOT support neon nylon grandma tracksuits, worn with neon sports caps. people see those looks and think THAT's what the early 90s was about, and therefore fear it's comeback.

"irony" is beginning to piss me off

who doesn't love early 90s!

my love is the hip hop scene around that time. I wish I was teen in the early 90s. The hip hop look is what i love. Mix it with some bright colors, but do it tastefully and it looks gorgeous.

i found a crazy colored adidas jacket from the thrift store that fit perfectly and they go well with this Michael Jackson shirt that says, "i am bad" haha, with my acid skinnies, and old school nikes. Heavenly!!... i get compliments all the time. I may need to post a picture.

Hee! I'm with you. I was 12 in 1991 and was sooo the into the hip-hop of that time (and the alternative rock stuff, too but not as passionately). A Tribe Called Quest, Black Sheep, Del, KRS-1, Cypress Hill. And I adored Digable Planets. I wore the super baggy jeans and colorful stuff, the big hoop earrings. Girbauds anyone? To this day I still wear my Addidas shell-toes. Although I don't wear the ridiculously baggy pants anymore, I find myself wearing variations of that stuff. To some degree. I was just saying how much I miss the 90's

actually i still have a pair of brown denim baggy overalls...i don't know where i put them though. but i remember the last time i wore it all my friends looked at me and said wtf. bad idea i guess but i thought i looked pretty cool HAHAHA

Hmm,I see it coming back but more like M.I.A. type of style, bright acid colors and grunge rock styles ala Kurt Cobain. I liked the 90's but the Fashion trends, not so much:unsure:

mid 90s skate style has really been doing it for me lately... especially the east coast

mh 90s were a mix of the good, bad and very ugly...by ugly i mean plain and uninspiring!
There were the power suits...remember Amanda from melrose place? Then there were the cullotes...the shorts that you werent sure whether they were skirts and were made in these tropical printed fabrics! Then there were the shiny suits with skinny capri pants
There was lots of plaid
Bright boxy mens suits in yellow(the mask), violet, royal blue...
there were straight long skirts with long slits on the side
there were platforms during that 70s revival....
etc

I think the early '90s are just a continuation of the blasted eyesore that people want to keep hammering into our brains until death- the '80s. The '90s comeback I care more about is the mid and late 1990s. There were some early '90s styles I've loved. But otherwise, couldn't care less in this day and age. I'll let you know that overalls don't translate well to people other than children and babies. The majority of overalls I've seen were mostly denim overalls for people who think overalls are with you your whole life. I truly don't like overalls for guys. I'm not too fond of women's overalls. I think I once seen overalls that are actually stretch pants with the overalls look. Maybe they were the jersey knit or spandex variety. I can think of one reason why most ladies wouldn't mind a return of overalls- no worries of squatting down and providing an uncomfortable rear view. Even then, I've seen most overalls with the straps down. I just don't really like overalls to begin with. I'm sure designers will try everything to offer them in different varieties of pants (including shorts) as well as skirts (more of jumpers in the case of overall skirts).

The mid-late 1990s saw skorts get popular. I remember in my middle school days when I've seen these wrap skirts that were actually hiding the shorts look by replacing it with a skirt look up front. However, you have to turn around to see they are actually shorts. Even before the leggings + skirt craze, these were always the safe skirt for those not keen on any uncomfortable views when sitting in certain positions. These are still very popular with children with various varieties of skorts. These even include what looks like mini skirts, only there are attached shorts. Some may even call them bloomers. With the right sense of style, you can actually come up with classy and cute looks with certain skorts. Imagine pairing a classy bolero or cropped jacket of one color, and then paired with a nice skort to provide a semi-formal look. In my (stepping out of the 1990s for a moment) Senior year in high school, one girl wore two different khaki skorts. One had the skirt look with slits on both sides exposing the shorts detail. The other one looks like a skirt all the way around, only you notice this moderately high slit on her left leg exposing the shorts detail.

Most people don't like the midriff-bearing of the mid and late 1990s, but I actually like it. I actually consider the belly to be the most beautiful part of a woman's body. I didn't instantly think Britney Spears (while she was sane) or Christina Aguilera (who has arguably the most beautiful belly of any female celebrity. Jessica Alba has a lovely belly as well). I even grew fond of those who unbuttoned shirts to show off the navel. Even a full-figure friend of mine then had a button-down shirt that she unbuttoned on one of the last days of my middle school experience. She actually had a (and I remember it well because it stuck with me) pair of white jeans on paired with white Keds-style sneakers. She had two button-down shirts with floral prints on them. The next-to-last day of school, she wore her black shirt. She'd wear her white shirt the last day of school. For a full-figured lady, she was quite slim and had a nice little navel to show off. Even on days when we could wear whatever we wanted, some girls wore belly-baring shirts. Sometimes wearing shirts that extend maybe two inches below the bustline. Sometimes, another lady friend of mine worn these cropped white tops, navy uniform pants, and brown sandals... as one of her school uniform looks! The cropped top worn by my chocolate-skinned friend would show off her candy-sweet belly (so she was obviously one of my own Black people). She even sometimes wore some slightly-cropped tops, often with khaki uniform pants and sneakers. I've missed her since no longer being part of my first high school. And wasn't it fitting her beauty was crystal-clear since Krystal was her name? Looks like this nowadays are either confined to low-rise jeans with cropped T-shirts or even layered tops to prevent seeing the midriff. And let's not forget those shrug tops.

I think what I've loved most about the mid-late 1990s were those flared stretch pants, the widely-flared bootcut jeans, and some of the chunky loafers, sneakers, and boots worn with these flared pants and jeans. It was this sort of '70s style that will never die. Nothing like a funky look like some nice flares or bellbottoms paired with some chunky shoes and boots. I think the mid-late 1990s really exploded such sexy looks and styles, often exposed to the point of cropped skirts, exposed midriffs and navels, and perhaps even "showing skin." It was a daring style of fashion and looks, but it still sticks out to me to this day.

Some nostalgia:

WHY, WHY, WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY ARE THE 90S COMING BACK?!!?!? It's only 2008! I REFUSE to dress like i did when I was a kid or the tacky adults of my past. Plus these frikin decade trends are as uncreative and boring as humanly possible.
