The one in my photo is the men's day, it costs 990 USD. The last one in kimair's post is the besace, and it costs 1055 USD. The only real difference between the two is that the besace has a flap, and the mens day has a zippered top.

Have you tried calling Fisch for the Hip? It's on 18th Street in Manhattan. I was in there a few weeks ago and I don't remember seeing too many bbags, but they usually have a few so it's worth a shot...

it depends on the bag and the condition...
certain colors (yellows, metallics, certain blues) and styles (anything flat brass) seem to be more money...
ann's had a 04 yellow first that recently sold for $1100, and a silver hw black city that sold for $1000...

I'm going to PAris for about a week and I'm considering getting a Balenciaga there.
So what do you guys prefer? A brief or a city with giant hardware? I'm hoping BParis has a nice selection.. Otherwise I'll just trawl the department stores

I'm really liking the brief in brown with GH.. I can't really make a firm decision though! Help! Black/brown/lighter colour?

the mens colors are a little funny in general. from spring 05-spring 06, balenciaga did the same color for mens and womens bag. For fall 06, they released different colors for men, including a grenat-boredoux hybrid (Except duller than both colors), a vert olive that looked almost exactly the 05 olive, and a teal-ish blue that looks pretty similar to this seasons aquamarine (i had this color too but wound up selling it). I think these colors, as well as black of course, are still around, even in bal ny.

for spring 07, they made it more complicated by not just releasing different colors for the men, but also different colors/materials for different mens styles. the mens day for 07 seems to be made from linen, while ive seen the 07 besace's with the usual leather but in blueberry, sapin, (both f06 women's colors), cafe, and the standard black + white.

this is all very confusing, and i might have mixed up some seasons and colors. your best bet with the mens day is ebay - check for the spring 05-06 colors. i actually saw an 05 dolma mens day (gorgeous leather!) not too long ago on ebay, didnt think it sold, and only about $700 usd (if i remember correctly). very nice. for reference, my bag pictured is an ink from spring 06.

Ebay is (so far) not an option, as i need to see it IRL & i want to buy it in a store. Ebay won't give the same feeling.

dannyboy, thats very intresting! I never knew they made in different colors. I guess I can see why they would do that, a vert deau or vert gazon wouldnt sell so well with men.

where are you getting your vert d'eau work from?

i finally GOT mine !!!!!
its such a nice colour but i saw 3 different vert d'eaus and they were all different shades.. but completely different... quite strange to see how it can vary from bag to bag. i took the darker one in a very smooth thick leather.
they also had the aquamarine which is a gorgeous colour but nothing beats the vert d'eau

leyla, i thought you might like to see a pix of your favorite bal color, vert d'eauin weekender size WITH a louis vuitton cotton sprouse scarf from the louis vuitton cruise '07 collection. this scarf was made in very limited quantities and not even all the LV ready to wear stores got delivery.
