Thanks guys! I think it's the saddle as it's a '08, but the SA just called it "tan" when I asked her what the name was. I'm really in love with the color!! Had been looking for nice tan bag for a long time, and finally...mwah! Haha!

I went to Neimans SF yesterday (searching everywhere for the Estee Lauder DoubleWear black eyeliner - Neimans was like the 5th place I looked!). Since I was there I figured I'd go visit their little bbag boutique. I saw the black cherry and it is gorgeous - even the bf liked it. I want one! And I also saw a very interesting bag - forgive me if it's been talked about already, i haven't been keeping up with this thread as well as I should - but it was a black city with giant hardware but - the hardware was covered in black leather, and the trim of the bag (like the little plate in the middle on the front, ect) was sort of edged with a pattern... it looked as if they were trying to make the bag look very "biker". It wasn't my thing personally - I like the femininity of bbags and I felt the biker styling took that away, but for ppl who like a tougher look, it might be good. Has anyone else seen this or know what I'm talking about, and know the name of the bag?

They also had a light gray first - as much as I love the color gray, I didn't like this at all - it was very washed out and blah looking.

Has the leather on BB bags improved this season?

I am looking into buying a first or a Chanel.. any input on the leather would be appreciated.:flower:

It seemed to vary with the colors. Magenta, light magenta, the dark green and the white or off white, and the gray - the leather really didn't impress me. Very smooth - it barely looked distressed at all. I mean the color was nice, it had the subtle color variations, ect,(except the light gray which was very monotone) but the leather was just too smooth - it looked like brand new leather, not distressed leather. On the other hand, the black cherry, purple, and black bags were better - the leather looked distressed and was a bit more smooshy looking and feeling. If you live close to a boutique I'd suggest going down there to take a look personally - I wouldn't order over the phone after seeing the leather, I'd be too worried I'd get a bag with the totally smooth leather, which isn't my thing. Hope that helps :)

I'm new to the forum and not surprised my first topic to view is handbags :D - particularly Balenciaga. I didn't used to enjoy looking at handbags or shopping for one, but now I gravitate to handbag shops like a magnet. I'm happily fussy. Perhaps too much. Since seeing a couple Balenciagas in person and how beautifully made they are - not just their quality - but also the lovely style (they have just the right balance of detail and 'open space') I often find looking for handbags an almost painful experience. It's like knowing there's fine art in galleries somewhere but having to view paint-by-number garage sale items  le sigh

i have not been on this thread for a while, i passed by a store here in newyork and saw some purple balenciagas, is purple a pre-fall color?

uniq - I've also not been keeping up with the colors but I believe theres an amethyst for pre fall.

I haven't been around for so long, but I just got a new F/W '08 bag and I love it! It's an Off-Black Courier, my first really big bag, and here we are together ;o)
