I recently found a balenciaga bag in a second hand shop... I asked a friend who ownes his own 2nd hand shop who is really into checking for fakes and he was doubting it was authentic... i need to know if the nits and zipper on the motorcycle bag is phillips on the authentic ones... can anyone help me on that?

I wanted to let everyone know that today I received the refund for my returned fake e-bay bag. What an exhausting ordeal -- I was lucky to get the money back!

I'm considering returning a rouge classique (my first b-bag). The first is my favorite style and I love the color of the bag but I'm concerned about the small size. For such a large investment, I want to make sure I get a lot of use out of it and am seriously considering a city or twiggy instead. I know others have spoken about the conflict betweeing loving the style of the first but not liking the size. My fantasy is to have a first, a city, and a twiggy, but for now I am only buying one. Any opinions from those who either stayed with the first or went to larger bags?

Hi, I have 2 firsts and 1 city and 1 twiggy. So I can maybe help you out. I actually use my first the most (when not on campus). Although all I really carry is, a cellphone, little makeup case thing, long wallet, keys, camera and few odds and ends. The first is perfect if thats all you carry.

I happen to looooove the shape of the first, since it is the original I had to have it in black and I have an Indigo one. they are absolutley great.

Not to say I dont love my twiggy (which happens to be my favorite I think, as of now). It hold alot more stuff and its a great bag also. The city holds a ton of stuff, but LARGE items. Lots of little things. I dont know if that makes sense.

My next purchase will be a black Office for books and folders, for my last semester on campus. Sorry this is such a convolutes post. But I hope I helped out.

My answer is keep the rouge first. You will get a ton of use out of it, especailly because it transtions perfectly from day to night!!!

la maria, I don't know what you mean by 'nits', but the Balenciaga zipper should be Lampo. If you post photos it will be easier to let you know what's right or wrong about the bag...

thank you for the fast supply... mine is definetly a fake then , a very nice made fake... they only failed with the zipper... i will stay happy with my bag though -i payed less than 10$ for it and now when I hear what they sell them for in ebay I can be happy that wasnt me... a nice 2nd hand bag, and worth the try... But I can only recommend taking an extra look in small 2nd hand shops with old ladys working... sometimes you CAN make a scoop... got 2 authentic Moschino belts for less than 5$...

I also have the rouge first (which is my only b-bag) and I love it! I guess since I don't carry a lot the first is actually a perfect size for me (and plus I am so petite a large bag will make me look even shorter)! I can keeo my wallet, keys (a lot of keys with 2 big remote for my 2 cars), hand lotiion, lip gloss, maybe my sunglasses. I actually think the city or twiggy maybe too big for me. But if the size is really really small for you then I would vote for twiggy. For some reason I am not too into the City style.

I finally got a chance to see some b-bags in Barneys yesterday, they have all these pony cities and firsts in different colors, but I really don't like the pony coz the distressed leather is the thing I like most about b-bags. I also saw some very very un-distressed leather. They are smoooooooth!!! Then I felt how lucky I got a perfectly distressed bag from aloha rag!

Hi, I was wondering if any of you girls purchased the Pony Balenciaga yet? I heard it looks very nice but you need to take really good care of your bag. If you purchased it already, how are you keeping your bag clean?

drchris -- I have a turcoise first and an apple green city in the mail for me. The first is big enough to fit all my stuff, but I just preffer the look or larger bags, the first reminds me of the tiny bags all the teeny-booper girls are carrying around and I dont want my balenciaga to look like that. I think the only color I would preffer in the first style is black, which I plan to get eventually. If the first is enough to fit your stuff comfertably, then I think you should keep it, but if you dont think you'll be using it much becuase it's so small, I think you should return it

there's this shop that everyone knows about, in this HUGE mall filled with counterfeits. you walk to this one store, and they lead you to a tatoo parlor. except it isn't a tatoo parlor. you go in, and go through another door. in a tiny room, there are a zillion fakes of anything you can imagine. they go for anywhere between $30 - $80 USD.

Someone on another board said they just got back from Selfridges & Browns and they had the city bag in deep purple, inky blue, and white as well as rouge red. Selfridges had a pewter metallic , grey, and rouge red box, magenta city, and a grey and rouge red overnight.

I'm curious about that mysterious deep purple city she saw at Browns. She didn't clarify whether it was regular leather or pony. She only talked about the black on black ponyskin.

That could be. My bordeaux looks very purple in certain lights.
