The Beautiful Life

Oh no that sucks. I liked this way better than Melrose.

This does suck
I watched literally 2 minutes of Melrose before turning it off.. it's so boring. And the actors weren't all that great either, at least from the way it started IMO.

The Beautiful Life was like a better Gossip girl (no parents!!) CW Sucks!!!

They shot 7 episodes total, so they may release a DVD down the road or put them on Itunes.

I really, really, really hope so! :woot: Would totally buy it!!!!!

Actually, only 6 full episodes were shot. They were filming the 7th when it got canceled.

I don't understand why ratings matter anyway? Most people Tivo or download it from iTunes, doesn't that count?

Well ratings is how they make their money. If the ratings are bad, nobody will want to advertise with them. And if nobody wants to advertise, there's no revenue.

I forgot about the ads since I never watch them  ^

Doesn't downloading them from iTunes help in any way?

It would've been ok if it had at least 2 million viewers...unfortunately it started out too low and then dipped under a million. The CW has a lower barometer than most networks...but it just went too much under.

Wow,that was so sudden.I feel kinda bad for some reason :ninja:

It can help,in certain cases. For exemple Dollhouse, nobody was watching that show on TV but a lot of people downloaded it.So it got pick up for an entire season and even got a season 2.But as far as TBL goes,I don't even think that it was successful online.I don't even know,if there were posibilities to have the episodes via Itunes,Amazon and such.

:(
i liked the show. i thought it had a lot of potential, plus some really cute guys to boot. seems like cw didnt give it a fair shot. only TWO episodes aired? they could have gave it a few more weeks. oh well. that network is destined to go bankrupt. they have horrible ratings across the board and everyone seems to be tired of the "pretty white people with problems" shows.

^me too.

Do any of you think they will air the 3rd ep that was advertised or was ep 2 the last one to be aired forever?

I agree. They could have waited 2 or 3 episodes more before deciding something like this. I really felt something good with this show, which I haven't felt from any CW show before.... Their loss. Unfortunately, it's mine as well. :(

Not sure if this is any good but there's a petition going around on Twitter to sign, to bring The Beautiful Life back. I signed it. ^_^ Check it out on twitter.com/sara_paxton

On another note, I do hope they release it on DVD because I'd like to at least see the other 4 or 5 episodes they filmed....

i just heard about the cancelation, im kind of sad for Ashton, but lets face it, we knew this was coming...
The plot was good, but not the characters or how they desembolved in the show.

Before it aired, I was so looking foreword to tbl, and i was extremely disappointed when I saw the pilot episode. None of the characters had depth, the script was not great, and Mischa's acting was embarrassing. I was hoping it would pick up speed and get a little better, but now we'll never know where it could've gone. Kinda sad.

i heard that they were in the middle of filming the 7th episode when they found out...are we gonna see the other 5 eps?

^I hope so, but probably only on a dvd or something. I doubt they will show the rest of them on television.

They won't. :( According to The Associated Press, re-runs of Melrose Place will air instead.

The Beautiful Life” the new CW drama created by Ashton Kutcher about young fashion models trying to make it in New York, has become the first new series of the fall television season to be canceled.

The CW network announced late Friday that it would replace the series, which had broadcast only two episodes so far, with repeats of “Melrose Place” on its Wednesday night schedule.

The most recent episode of “The Beautiful Life” drew only 1 million viewers, down from about 1.5 million in its first week. The series, which starred Mischa Barton, Corbin Bleu and Sara Paxton, was shooting its seventh episode on Friday when the network announced it was canceling the show.
