The Chick-Lit Books

I really loved the Sophie Kinsella 'Shopaholic' books, they were funny.
Now I wanna read the devil wears prada and bergdorf blondes. Any fan of chick-lit by now?

i liked the bergdorf blondes. but sometimes, the book just gets tooooooo superficial and i needed something for real. but i liked the describtions a lot....
if you look for something to find some sort of inner truth, don't read it. i think it's more for distraction....

i started likinch chick-lit after reading the shopaholic series and the devil wears prada too! I'm now reading Gemma Townley's Little White Lies. chick lit is great for a light read. The type where you curl up with on a lazy weekend afternoon....well..maybe because I save thrillers/horror (especially psychological thrillers) for the night

I love the Shoppaholic series too. I hope there is more!!

Marian Keyes is a brilliant author. Love all her books, especially Other Side of the Story.
Cecilia Ahern is really good too. I cried when I read PS I Love You

It's sort of a "guilty pleasure" for me. I love the Shopaholic books but I kind of wish Kinsella had stopped after the third. I didn't like the 4th as much. I have liked the other books (not in the series as well)

Jennifer Weiner
Anna Maxted
I get annoyed when it tries too hard to be light and "cute" and stops being "real"

I think chic-lit are perfect for train rides, short or long, since you dont need to get into the "mood" of the story or anything- like... you can pick up exactly where you left off without a second thought. Get what I mean?

And they're great funny reads which you don't have to think too hard about! I've read Devil wears Prada and Bergdorf Blondes. I wanna read debutante divorcee.

I read the first two of the Shopaholic series!Snobs by Julian Fellows!And 4 blondes by Candace Bushnell(not good).But i would like to read the Bergdorf Blondes can someone who read it tell me if its good?

I have read all the shopaholic series, though the last one - shopaholc and sister - wasnt nearly as good. I havent been able to make it all the way through bergdorf blondes but im sure i iwll eventually - it just hasnt really held my attention. Have read all of Candace bushnell's books - theyre great - totally recommend them. Loved 'Devil wears prada' - cant wait to see the film!

That is exactly what I thought!! I didn't like Shopaholic and Sister either. It was not her best book. The whole series was great though. I think my favorite was Shopaholic takes Manhattan. Those books were so funny. The only problem was it made me scared that I might have those huge bills sometime. I hope that I will not end up hiding them in various places. I have also read The Devil Wears Prada. They are going to make a movie! I am definitely going to go and see it. Has anyone read The Nanny Diaries? I heard that they are going to make a movie for that. I think that I am going to have to read that book sometime soon.

i really liked shopaholic takes manhattan and ties the knot. they were the best two as the characters had evolved by then. Yeah Meryl Streep plays Miranda the boss in the movie! I started the Nanny diaries but just couldnt get into it. I bought the other one by them 'citizen girl' but have yet to read it

I'm reading 'The Devil Wears Prada' at the moment.. It's a nice, enjoyable peice of fluff
