The Clinique Skincare Thread

i don't know, but i tried a sample, it was great! about $50 bucks i'd say, go and ask for a sample at myer, they last 2-3 days, and then decide.

clrifying lotion..yes, i guess it could, it was the same effect on my skin as a exfolient. ;)

Yes it is.
I particularly like the pore minimizer refining lotion.

it's similar to estee lauder 'idealist' only much cheaper. i like it a lot.

i use thier lipstick and mascaras, they are great for sensitive eyes.

Thier shampoo is really really good too :flower:

I got their spf 15 city block sheer tinted moisturizer today and so far I  it!

Seemingly we only get the darker shades here (?) but as I use loose, very light powder over it, it's really good. Gives me a bit of a suntanned, glowing look.

Does not itch or dry my skin out (I have pretty sensitive skin) and lasts all day so far...

however...anyone else have any bad experiences with their dramatically different moisturizing creme? they claim some pretty high stats for it, and my face seems overly sensitive to it...so I used it on my legs and hands, but immediately after using it, my hands/legs feel so incredibly dry...I thought the creme was supposed to be amazing? or am I not alone in thinking it's junk?
dunno....

I've used this ever since I was a child when I have dry skin and I've always found it works really well.

Has anyone tried there 3 step skincare range? I use the makeup (the powder has great coverage, that's all I wear!) and I also use their sunscreens which are fantastic! :)

Their makeup is very good and doesn't cause me to breakout! WOW so many bad reviews on the 3 step skin care system. I think I'll stick to Neutrogena!

So reading this, I do use the 3-Step system and all has been going great with it, I even recommended it to my sister and she said its fabulous for cleaning up her skin. (we both have acne but shes a bit worse). Well I guess she bought the Ance Soap and has been using that with the Toner and Lotion in the system so i though i would give it a shot, now i am broken out all over the place UGH its so annoying! Do you think its just because its a new change or what? because if Clinique is truely bad for your skin i would like to know the reasons or what other ance/skin care products i should be using!

Thanks

I think sometimes products are too harsh for your skin. I find if I use any acne products ( I have oily skin and get one or two spots on my chin) that it overdries my skin and then I break out really badly, so maybe if your skin isn't all that bad just use something fairly mild and non-drying like neutrogena cream cleanser that cleans our face but doesnt strip it of moisture!

the 3-step system works best for the very oily skins.

it didn't work for me -combo\oily- skin, and i think the alcohol amount in the toner\lotion is just too much for my face.... so if u have senstive skin, i think it won't be a good choice
the moisturizers on the other hand worked good for me, esp the Dramatically different moisturizing gel, it's amazing very light and refreshing...
and the makeup line, mom has sensetive skin and hr derm. told her to use Clinique's makeup, since it's the best line for senstive skins out there

^ Yes I completely agree about their makeup being great for sensitive skin! I find the same thing with toners that contain alcohol - I now use one by nivea visage that contains no alcohol and it works wonders and was like $8!

i reccomend the Healthy Shine Serum. it adds shine, controls frizz and best of all, its pretty cheap!

^ i never used any of their hair line, and im thinking to start with this one, i'd love to try the defining curls thingie though, but im not sure really since i don't exactly have "curls" to emphasize, they're more like "waves".. but i read some real rempting revies about it, so.. :\

dramatically different moisturizing lotion, i find is too oily for my combination skin. its only good for dry days in the dead of winter. love the clarifying toner and their eye shadows though :D

I love high impact mascara, the lipbalm and the super mild toner (no alchool at all).

has anyone here used the body spray? its basically to prevent pimples etc. on the back and other hard to reach places....

I used to borrow my mom's 3-step skincare when I was in my teens, but that's the only time it worked for me (now I use a combo of Japanese or Taiwanese soap and Kiehl's). As a general rule I don't buy expensive makeup (or really any makeup for that matter), but about once a year I'll wait for Clinique's Gift With Purchase and buy something if the gifts are any good (I've managed to accumulate a good stash of makeup just from the GWPs).

I just want to alert you guys to the fact that Clinique's best product, the SPF 15 moisture sheer lipstick, is being discontinued:

I got the Sweet Violet shade a few years ago as part of a GWP and fell in love with it. It's the best lipstick I've ever owned and I generally hate lipsticks b/c they are so drying (and I wonder if they're bad for your lips. I don't use any other makeup regularly, no powder or foundation, b/c I'm convinced that stuff isn't good for your skin). The color doesn't rub on too dark, it's not matte or overdrying, and it has SPF. Today I found out they have been discontinued and the local store only had a few tubes left. I just bought the last 4 tubes I will ever own.

So if anyone else here loves them as much as I do run out and get them fast...

I use rinse off foaming cleanser and I like it so far. Really washes my skin clean. It's bit tightening and drying though, but not after I have put my moisturizer on.
