The Clinique Skincare Thread

I think I may have to try the Pore Minimiser now, I thought it wouldn't work! I have an aunt that swears by Clinique products.

I love the 3 step products!!! I have pretty normal to dry skin, but after using it my skin is super soft, and I never get any pimples :D

ah.. I use the 3 step too but I have acne-prone skin. i just add on whatever my derm gives me-

I had such a bad experience with the 3 step system. I first used it when i was about 17, as my mum had been using it for a while and she bought it for me to help my problem skin. It really seemed to help, and for a while my skin was in great condition. I eventually moved onto something else for a while, but about a year ago, decided to go back to it.

Well, I don't know if they had changed the formulation, or if it was my skin that had changed, not being a teenager anymore (Im now 24), but my skin went really red and hurt so much i was in tears. basically, the toner had burned the top layer of my skin and I had to use a heavy moisturiser for 6 months before my skin felt better. Now I am using the Chanel skincare system, which is brilliant.

Im never using Clinique again, and I would encourage anyone to try testers first before comitting to it, as it aint cheap either.:yuk:

^ Oh my gosh you poor thing! I'm so glad it's better now :) Thanks for the advice! I think I'll be steering clear of it!

I've been using only Clinique products for a few years and I find them fantastic! And I swear by the Pore Minumiser...It's like a magic potion :P

god u guys scare me so much. ive been using the 3 step system for like a week and until now i thought it was great. but at least 5 people in this thread have bashed it and said their skin became horrible.
should i stop it or what? im so confused. i thought it was great for my skin, now im irritated as hell after reading this thread!

I think it'd be the safest if people would use the toner #3, for dry & sensitive skin. I tried both #2 and #3, and while #2 feels harsher, it works more properly (i got no problems with my skin, btw. IF i ever get pimples, it's right at my hair line, meaning that I can simply comb my hair over that nasty beeyotch or on a nostril. It's practically invisible, it just hurts whenever I sneeze or touch my nose. My strangest pimple EVER was on the INSIDE of my nostril. Again, practically invisible, but hurt like hell.)

Erm, to go back on topic, #3 feels a lot less harsh to the skin, i miss the tingle, but it doesn't dry off the skin like #2. Never tried #1.

:(

any products that do good for my skin? im devastated. i just spent 60 euro on the 3 step programm.

well, clinique is not all bad, their superdefense cream is amazing, it has a lot of antioxidants and high SPF protection.
you don't have to spend a lot of money for products that work, lots of cheaper brands like neutrogena or garnier are really good to.

I used the 3 step system and it didnt do anything for my skin, the soap was horrible and so was the toner(it made my skin really dry and red) but the cream was ok.
My fave products would be the black honey lipstick, the city block and the eye cream

I just bought Clinique`s '7 day scrub cream' and wanted to know if anyone`s tried it? :flower: SA insisted me on buying this one (I wanted a gentle everyday scrub), she said it`s best she can offer of all brands. Well, dunno, if its best yet, but how it works for others? :)

^^ Seven Day scrub cream is fantastic! is yours the rinse off formula (thats what i use) I also love the liquid soap (#1) and clarifying lotion (#2). My skin is lovely and soft!

ya , mine is rinse off as well ;) I`ve tried it yesterday and the feeling after is so sweet: skin is soft as babys .... you know what :P

Do you use it in the evenings every da oryou have to do some kinda break after a week or so ? :)

^^no, i found it gentle enough to use everyday, but i guess if youre feeling sensitive you could cut back.

the 3-step system works best for the very oily skins.

it didn't work for me -combo\oily- skin, and i think the alcohol amount in the toner\lotion is just too much for my face.... so if u have senstive skin, i think it won't be a good choice
the moisturizers on the other hand worked good for me, esp the Dramatically different moisturizing gel, it's amazing very light and refreshing...
and the makeup line, mom has sensetive skin and hr derm. told her to use Clinique's makeup, since it's the best line for senstive skins out there

I completely agree. I had a tria version of the system, and i'd only buy the moisturizer (it's really great stuff).

The toners, however, is too mcuh alcohol. You can just tell by the smell. My skin feels really tight afterwards and i could even spot flaking. I'm neutral about the face wash. It seems to cleanse really well but i think it seems a bit harsh. Maybe because it smells like soap.

i use the 3 step cleaner, toner, moisurizer and i LOVE IT! my skin gets really firm after i use them all..
and the pore minimizer is genius too!
(plus i love that they give out little gift sets and awesome makeup bags with a certain purchase price)
