The Cover Challenge (PLEASE READ THE THREAD RULES IN POST #1)

Can the new theme be Vogue Italia's illustrations but better????

Congrats, crmsnsnwflks!!

Thank you for choosing my entry, Kite, and thanks to
Mon & Piet Retief as well!

Let's be real: Most covers that real magazines produce recently don't galvanize us
anymore, and sometimes their way of creating something innovative for the sake
of being innovative aren't clicking to most of us.

So for this round, let us show our own interpretation of innovation when it comes
to creativity and art directing.
Let it be your own illustration, your own photograph, an unforeseen theme for
a specific magazine title, or even your own magazine title!
A fan art or a collage from a published work is also acceptable for this
round (but please include the name of the photographer, model/s, and the source of your image.)

Surprise us with your talent.
Good luck!

I've always know that I want to work in a fashion magazine. Culte is a project that I started in college as a online blog/magazine where I write about fashion, culture and lifestyle. Sometimes, I take some fashion editorials and I post them there because I don't have the time to create my own visual content. My biggest dream is to have the budget to become Culte a print magazine. If you wanna check it, you can find it in social media as Culte Magazine.

What the cover of Vogue in my home country would've looked like if I had the connections or the uber rich parents in the corrupt government to back me up as a fashion photographer that I've always dreamt to be. (but had to become a luxury marketing specialist and part-time graphic designer instead)

ENTRY 2 (MULTICOVER)
by Kelly Beeman

For those who don't know, ArtReview is a British magazine about contemporary art, I wish any art magazine did an issue like this. (i really hate any Vogue Art editions, because those are just pretentious attempts to discuss the art world, and, personally, it should be left for art magazines, not random Vogue editions)

MON's cover makes sense and I believe it hints at the absence of making everything so physical and the ability to watch the fashion happen online!

On that note, after your message I want the next theme to be "the dumbest cover inspired by Farneti", where we all try to outdumb each other... If that happens, a digital cover made in TikTok or a print cover that is a Minecraft screenshot are taken by me now!

Dress up as darth vader and then suddenly get voted into the political elite.

P.S That is a sweet shot you took.

I guess it's time to announce the winner of this week's cover challenge:

jorgepalomo: As someone who also happens to have an e-mag, your covers
for Culte did intimidate me a bit especially the last one
that I can vividly picture it in an indie-mag section of a magazine store.
Tell your man that he's done a great job with the photography (and props to you as
well for uploading your own portrait).

MON: I mean... You're one of my favorites in this forum when it comes to
cover-making and that VI cover is hilariously great. It's very meta but
it's far better than most of the real VI's cover concepts this year
at the same time! Just one thing: Is there something on Emanuele's face? :shifty:

dontbeadrag: That looks like a real Vogue cover and she looks like a
real fashion model as well (I initially thought that she's Alana Zimmer until I
saw the text under the photo)! I wish it was a real magazine so that I can
see the other photos/the main editorial.

All in all, this is a solid batch of cover entries, but the winner is...

@dontbeadrag's Vogue UA!

Congratulations for winning this round!

PS: I need to see the outtakes of her shoot. LOL

@crmsnsnwflks, thank you very much! I would love to show the other shots from this shoot, it actually was a model test, she was a new face at the time, hmu where I can share them!

I was thinking to make the theme the dumbest cover ever, but we already have enough of Vogue Italia for that...

So, the new theme is related to some of our senses. It is summer, and even in my city it is 25 Celsius now, which is way too hot for the humidity level here. I feel hot & thirsty, which is the new theme. Do you remember Gisele by Mert & Marcus for Pirelli? Or Jamie Dornan by them for Visionaire or Interview? Or Jarrod Scott by Solve Sundsbo for Vogue Hommes in his couture birthday suit? Go for it! Whatever image you think is supersexy and makes you forget about that deadline or a meeting you have in 20 minutes... Put it on your cover! and make it tasteful, of course.

The screenshoot of Emanuele on Mon’s cover, I see what you doing, and well done lol.

Also congrats to dontbeadrag!
