The Cover Challenge (PLEASE READ THE THREAD RULES IN POST #1)

I am so thankful to be alive at the same time as Steven. To think of all times I could’ve been born, yet I have this joy of watching him produce and also evolve. From 2000s, since I was a kid, from his highly conceptual electric action editorials to now, a rather sterile, but nevertheless energetic studio shoots.

I remember starting to research fashion photography when I was 12 years old and in a year I came to a point where I looked for editorial inspirations and compared them side by side, making photoshop collages of image vs it’s inspiration. The most fascinating anything was always by Meisel. I remember finding Chris Von Wangenheim, Helmut Newton, Guy Bourdin, Richard Avedon, Deborah Turbeville, Cecil Beaton, David Bailey, Irving Penn… How Meisel took their work and made it his own. No wonder he is/was best friends with Madonna, who did the same with music. Now we have Gaga going with similar savoir-faire and she became a living legend before our own eyes. I just wish we’d witness the birth of another genius imagemaker now. I though those were M&M in the 10s, when those Gucci, POP and Love years were happening, but boy was I wrong.

These covers only prove my opinion.
