I was looking for (1) Spring Theme, (2) Good image - the image itself, the quality of it, and its appropriateness for the cover, (3) Text - I don't mind text at all, as long as it works. In the end, I went with the one that I thought excelled in all three of those criteria.

MyNameIs brings up a great point that I think I'm going to point out more for the second challenge but there should be some criteria on which things are judged. I think
Theme / Design / Originality are a good way to look at all the entries.

This is of course our first go round though. Its all a learning process
