Yes i think she does. What do you think of Meryls hair.I¨m not sure but it works it looks scary!

Yes Gisele does play herself!

Emil - that's very interesting about Anna Wintour! So that means Gisele will never get to appear in US Vogue again? .

I know crazy right!Hey i didnt say that i read it.I¨m sure Anna will make an exception for Gisele even do she wasn¨t in Vogue for quite some time now!

ahh this is going to be interesting...i'm excited for this movie! thanx for the scan, avant

Did anybody saw a picture from the movie where Meryl is standing in her office?I just saw a couple days ago a photo of Anna Wintours office and it looks almost idenitcall.Sow i dont get why are they denying that Miranda is Anna or that they modelled her on Anna?

I think they aren't commenting or something, but the writer of the book worked as Wintour's assistant, and it is quite obvious she modelled the character to Anna.

I haven't even read the book yet, though I have browsed it many times in the bookshop. Can't wait to read it and see the film...it will be hilarious! Streep is the right person to act in it.

Even though everyone knows that TDWP is based on Lauren's experiences with anna, the names are changed around for legal reasons and to protect the 'innocent' and lawsuits. :flower:

meryl looks great. i was so weary when they said she was going to play the lead, but now that i see her, how could i ever have doubted her. meryl can play anything!

and i love annes style, and shes seems liike a great actress to play the lead cuz she can act uncomfortable in the sort of stuff shes in

oooh.

I heard rumors that the REAL ms.wintour is trying to use her status to try and not allow filming on some key "fashion" locations!! Tres Risque!

It might be true that Anna is trying to use her power to stop the movie. And heres an article about it

The Devil You Know, On Line One

Although head Vogue-ette Anna Wintour has previously made light of her ex-assistant Lauren Weisberger’s best-selling roman a clef, we hear the Devil may care after all. Sources say Wintour has been doing everything in her power to ensure the film version of The Devil Wears Prada fizzles—even threatening to blacklist some of the fashion world’s biggest names if they agree to do cameos.

When Wintour got wind that producers had been recruiting major designers for walk-on roles, sources close to the film say she unleashed a flurry of phone calls intimating to the aspiring thespians that they’d be persona non grata in the pages of her high-end glossy if they participated.

Most of the designers bowed out, we hear, with the notable exception of Valentino—who made good on his promised cameo despite having born the brunt of Wintour’s discontent. (A rep for Valentino said she was unable to comment on his partcipation in the film or the drama we hear it caused at his offices.)

Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time Wintour has used her perch to punish Hollywood for depicting her world in a less-than-flattering light. When esteemed director Robert Altman was filming his 1994 fashion-world satire Pret-a-Porter, Wintour teamed up with Fairchild Publications founder John Fairchild to wage war on the production, intimidating would-be walk-ons and banning their respective publications from the movie.

Asked about Wintour’s latest round of speed-dialing, Vogue spokesman Patrick O’Connell said, “That’s rubbish. No such phone calls were made. We presume that people will participate, and that’s their business. There will be no retribution if anyone does.” As for Wintour’s personal feelings about the film, in which Meryl Streep plays her as a vampire in $900 pumps, O’Connell said, “Anna’s happy about anything that supports fashion.”

A Fox Films spokesperson confirmed that Valentino appeared in the
film—“He just filmed another [scene] the other day”—but was unable to comment further by press time.

it's a must really see movie. can't wait to hear Meryl S say "Uhn-dre-uh".

I don't know much about Anna Wintour except that she's the chief editor of US Vogue, but is she known for being a b*tch?

In any case, I would think that Ms. Wintour would want the production to continue at all costs... If she's known for being a b*tch, then she wants to keep up that image, no? Why would she want to portray herself as a sugary sweet person; she wants people to think she's bitchy...
