The Doors

I really like the doors, i even have a wall calender for them.
Has anyone seen the movie? I thought Val Kilmer played Jim Morrison really well.

Any profile shots of Jim, you have to stop and look at, he just has the face that you want to stop for.

I have this really great picture of me when I was a few months old where I had my brothers headphones on and in all the head phone pictures of me I'm laughing, smiling and clapping and moving my head to the song "Love Me Two Times" and when I learned how to stand my mom said I used to do the cutest dance to "Break On Through"...then when I could talk my habit was when I saw my mom I sang the line "hello, I love you"

I gotta love them...I liked them before I can even say mama  They do have some good songs, but just the fact I have history with this band makes it a whole lot more special.

It's the Los Angeles thing, how could you grow up and not love the Doors... My mum was asked out by him...

I like to cleanse my doors of perception with 'Break on Through'...

I agree with most of the descriptions so far... Jim's voice was haunting... very deep and it always drags me in... It's very kind of 'sensual' in a way, you can just close your eyes and listen and be swept away. I love it.

But I have to agree with Lo that the organ is very harsh in comparison, and not always in a good way. I could do without it in most songs. Especially the long organ solos, lol.

I love the Doors, my fav songs must be Riders on the Storm and Take it as it comes, as well as Break on through

I saw Jim's grave in Paris, too.

I think the movie was pretty good and they couldn't have picked a better Jim Morrison than Val Kilmer...

I adore this velvet sweater:

So was my mom!!!:P
She said she was very tempted to go to his hotel with him, but she said there were a ton of other girls around and she didn't feel like competing for him. She also said he was gorgeous but smelled awful...like a horse she said.

My mum was too much of a good girl to go out with him. It's a really cute story of how it happened though. It happened on King St and Sunset, whenever I drive on Sunset more towards Hollywood I giggle when I come to the street.

My mum was walking down King about 2 in the afternoon and she walked by this guy and she thought to herself, that looks exactly like Jim (she was a huge fan, and been in love with him forever, she went to the concert in New Haven that was the first one he ever got arrested at). As she was turning around to get a second look he had turned around too and apparently they started talking. They talked about films, and making movies and directors ect and then after they talked for like half an hour he was like "Hey why don't you come get lunch with me."

But alas she was late for a rehersal with her friend and told him no. When she got to her friends house and told him why she was late he was furious.

God I would give anything to have lived in LA during that time. One some days you can feel the old "rock and roll" feel that LA once had but I don't think it will ever be the same.
