The Eyebrow Thread, all you need to know and ask about your arches

yep and you definitely dont want to do that. Those look takcy and full brows make you look more classier.

I believe that ALOT of people look at other peoples brow and obsess about it too. Some judge you by how you maintain them.

Haha.. ^^ I know ay? I'm really starting to detest rail thin eyebrows.. it makes you looks bad imo.. Haha so right! i always stare at peoples eyebrows even though its secretly.

Very thin eyebrows make one look older and kind of washed out and they definitely don't suit everyone. Imo, they only, if ever, look good on people with an even face structure.

One woman who was very beautiful minus the brows was Greta Garbo. Almost breaks my heart.

Though I think if you have small features you can have small brows. But they should be short. Not long and thin.

I shouldn't preach though, my brows are an almost incurable mess. They grow in all different ways, and are kind of patchy. They also reflect too much light. Even though they are very dark, they're so fine they can almost disapear under the wrong lights. :ninja:

I just bought a MAC eyebrow pencil, its really good! you dont need to press hard or use too much. My eyebrows are quite thick now (thanks to castor oil)

^I wanted some castor oil a while back, but couldn't find any. :( I was looking around in the vitamin section at Target I believe, plus a grocery store. Where did you get yours?

i'm always surprised at how the west/modern fashion capitals havent caught up with eyebrow threading yet

its popular and dirt cheap in india and the mid east

i went to walmart for castor oil. It was at the pharmacy aisle. Dont be afaraid to ask a person who works there, its there job.

Mine was labeled as used for constipation but its used for that and everything else.

I was watching Look-A-Like
and the make up artist guy said if you want to see what your eyebrows will look like before actually doing them,
use a skin toned colour to cover up what you plan to wax/pluck before you actually do it and theyre gone.

:)

haha i saw that yesterday with ashlee simpson correct?

yeah that is a good idea.

just read a magazine and it said something I agree with,
Don't follow trends because the best eyebrow is the one that looks most natural on you.

Exactly! Lawl email me? What do you use castor oil for?? To make eyebrows thicker?

yes but right now its making my eyebrows fall off. i dont know if its the castor oil or i'm just stressed and paranoid and blaming it instead. it usually does not do. it happened once to me last year.

my paranoid thinking is that castor oil encourages hair growth and keeps pushing the hair out of the follicle even when its not ready. This makes the hair very convenient to fall off if not taken care of properly.

I'm not really an eyebrow fanantic I just get them threaded every 2-3 weeks or so, I feel like crap and sooo self concious when my eyebrows aren't done though; the moment I leave the shop I feel like a new woman.

yeah eyebrows can realy make a difference. 2 or 3 weeks? Dont you ever wonder what it would look like if you grew back your natural arch? Just wondering...

Don't feel so bad when they're not done. Having some sparse hair is acceptable. Its not like after 2 weeks you have turned yourself into a unibrow monster!

It's pretty popular in the US too I think. I had it done a few years at Ziba in LA. There are a few places in my little ol' midwestern city who do it for like $7. ANd yeah, they're run by mideastern women...

I grew my eyebrows out as recommended but then I had a little modeling job and felt self-conscious so I tweezed them again but I'm growing them out again. Once they are grown out as much as possible should I go get them threaded and just ask to have them cleaned up but not too thin? Or should I just leave them? I don't want to look unkempt but then in all those backstage close ups of models, it seems like a lot of them have natural untweezed brows....

Whenever I've grown mine out, I would just tweeze the most out-of-place hairs first, but leave the ones closest to my brow. ...If that makes sense. I don't think it's necessary to let it all grow out at once.

yeah thats a reasonable comprpomise alot of people make with eyebrows.

I pretend theres an imaginary horizontal straight line below my base and anything under that goes byebye.

Castor oil makes air fall off?? I've been using it for my eyelashes and it looks darker and thicker >.<"
