The Eyebrow Thread, all you need to know and ask about your arches

Have you tried waxing? It last much longer than tweezing alone :flower:

I tried when I was younger but it gave me acne or a sort of red little bumps that were uglier than the actual hairs.

Maybe I should try again. I´ll let them grow wildly in my vacations and later I´ll give waxing another try. Thanxs for the tip!:flower:

What do you do about the hairs inbetween the eyebrows? Coz mine grow strangly..from different directions lol ..

Is there any way u can perhaps change the direction of its growth?

You could go for a wax touch up. It looks to me like all you'd need to get rid of is some extra hairs here and there. Keep in mind not everyone can have an arch per se. You have to go with the natural shape of you brows. Not much work on you need at all.

........Speaking of which....this thread reminded me I need to make an appt. tomorrow for mine. :innocent:

Like many of you, I too, am growing out my brows and it's a pain! I look like I was involved in a pilot light explosion. Thank goodness for pencil!!

I love love the new strong semi-striaght brows and had them once, they just don't flatter my features. I have to have sculpted arch brows. Oh well, grass is always greener... :)

let them grow out. seriously, you overplucked them. let them grow and then go to someone professional and they'll give you a wonderful new look.

I thinking of colouring them at my friends mum (she works at a beauty salon) but I'm araid it wont suit my skintone.
I have tried browpowder and browpenci, but black get's to gray compared to my hair, cause it's not black, but more brazilian brown (I'm a blonde originally:innocent: )
And the end of the brow is very much lighter then the front of the brow. My brows are dark, but I'm wondering if they're dark enough..

Some pictures of my eyebrows. On the first picture, I wore browpowder.(Excuse my funny looking face:blush: )

Yes I tend to do this sometimes. Well, all the time. :)

Can someone recommend me of a good brow powder for dark eyebrows?

I used to use just dark brown eyedshaow, and that seemed to work well.

I use pencil on my brows now though, since I don't have any brows and powder would be too messy...

Your brow shape is nice, but you should have longer eyebrows in the end. The are too short for your eyes.

One more thing, do you pluck on the upper part of your brows?

Golden_butterfly: What cardboardboxed said ;)

larichg: It´funny how sometimes we go round in circles regarding skin/hair/brows, etc colours.
If you dye your brows darker you will look really heavy, so i don´t recommend you to do this (and i´ve seen it, so i know what i´m talking about)

Anyway, in my honest opinion, your hair is to dark for your natural colours, so maybe if you had a lighter brown colour instead of the dark brown you now have, everything would be more in harmony :flower:

When you said your natural hair is blonde everything was put together in terms of understanding what was looking wrong in your brows.

I don´t say we should be happy and stay with everyhting natural, but we should at least make our choices regarding what we have to start with.
For instance, i have had blonder hair in the past (brown is my natural colour) and now i can see how much more i gain in hjaving brown and i play with this and with simpler choices. ^_^

I am a huge fan of drawn on brows.. well, on the right people. I had drawn on brows for a long time... I still draw mine on, but now I have some eyebrow hairs instead of none. My eyebrows are black (I'm asian) but really really sparse, so without pencil they look like they dont exist!

I also pluck them pretty much daily. You know those annoying little tiny hairs? Ugggh they're so evil. I'll sit around for aggges trying to get them. Yeah, it's really sad.

I hate those teeny tiny little hairs  I also spend forever trying to get them all.

I hate my eyebrows though. There are a few hairs that always face down no matter what you do. I've tried brushing them up and using brow gels but nothing works. I have to use a pencil to make them look more even becuase of the couple hairs that wont go upwards.

Eyebrows?!! I could go on and on and on.....

I did practically everything with mine.
Last year when I was still in my goth/neo-punk phase, I used
to shave them every morning and draw them in with liquid
eyeliner, to get that porcelain doll effect.
I did that for..... 4 months probably, every damn day! Then,
when I decided to embark upon a modelling career, I started growing
them out.

It took me 2 months to grow them out completely and, since I was
insanely "educated" and experienced with shapes and thickness of
eyebrows, I now have them well groomed, completely natural.
Thank god, they are quite good quality - the hair is not too thick
or too thin and invisible.
