The Eyebrow Thread, all you need to know and ask about your arches

I was wondering how to pluck an eyebrow that is in a lower position than the other one?
I'm so confused!

How do you mean lower position?! One that isn´t exactly side by side with the other?

Anyone have any experiences with threading? Or if this is discussed already somewhere, can you point me to the posts?

thanks :flower:

Yeah, something like this :

I tried plucking the ' lower ' one so it would look like they are in the same position, one ended up being thinner than the other one!
What should i I do? :(

^my two eyebrows are radically different from each other, I've never been capable of making them look alike on my own. I say grow them out, then go to someone who's really good at eyebrowing shaping, so she'll make them perfect and you can work from there to maintain them.

I did...twice. And both time they over plucked the eyebrows. So this time I thought I'd figutre it out myself :)

^awww, I hope someone has some good suggestions for you then, because I'd have no clue what to do!! :flower:

Thank you :flower:
It's just annoying to have to walk around with the ' one eyebrow raised ' - expression hehe

It´s hard to make eyebrows look the same, when in reality, most of us have different eyebrows.

Do you know that if you show only one side of your face in front of a mirror, you´ll see that we have 2 dif. sides- one sad and one happy. It´s strange but true!
One of the eyes is more open, of of the eyebrows more raised, and the corner of the lips is also different. :o The opposite for the sad face.

Anyway, it´s better to pluck them folowing a bit their style and not trying to much to atempt to make them lookalike, because rarely that happens.

I did these 2 schemes for you to try :)

With this one, you try to make them looking equal, by finding the end and the beggining of each brow, and see if they match

With this one, you can see if the brow is in harmony with the face, not too long or short (like this girls case, where her eyebrow should start "earlier").

What happens, is that shorter eyebrows like these, make the eyes look more erased instead of bringing them forward.

I hate my eyebrows though. There are a few hairs that always face down no matter what you do. I've tried brushing them up and using brow gels but nothing works. I have to use a pencil to make them look more even becuase of the couple hairs that wont go upwards.

I have that, too! It's evil! I manage to get them looking identical, but the hairs on one eyebrow start pointing down again and then it looks like one eyebrow is thicker than the other. :(

Oh, mine are all kinds of curly, it's impossible to get them to shoot off in the right direction!! It's so hard when I get them waxed because then the girl brushes them all up and makes them beautiful, but the second I'm at home on my own, they won't stay brushed in the right place.

For a while I used to put a little bit of hairspray on them. It sort of worked, but you have to make sure to find a type that doesn't end up flaking, then you have little white crummy things on your eyebrows, not so fun.

I really need to wax my brows again. They grow in so quickly and they're so thick and coarse. Yuck.

I higly recommend that you should avoid waxing. Waxing pulls out the skin and eventually it will sag it. ;)

NOT everybody is meant to have arches. three problems of that causes overplucking. When the brow is about to curve people tweeze that part out and your not suppos to. look at jessica stam. she has lyk three hairs in their but it makes a huge difference on her fox-like eyes. another part is the bottom DO NOT touch that except the ends and where the brow curves. finally alot of ppl also had a lot of confusion where their brow starts. DO NOT TOUCH THAT unless u no what ur doing. so basically all u can touch is the bottom of the curve and ends of your brows. the top, you shud just observe it and look carefully and DO NOT attempt to do it all at once. when u do eyebrows and u r asking urself does dis look right it is ALWAYS A NO because u r not sure and brows are sumthin u have to be 300 percent sure about. sumtimes leaving a LITTLE BIT of strands of hair in the curve can give u a more natural look. u can use a liner to even alter the curve just by shading in a portion of that part to chagne the look of it now and den. i dont think u shud tweeze everyday cuz ur hair dont grow fully in one day. your taking more than what u can grow. and also its nice to admire celebrity eyebrows but DO NOT copy them! u dont necessarily have the same hair growth as them and therefore will screw ur brows up because u will try and try to tweeze them to perfection until theres no more.

i hate it also when the eyebrow is pluckd in the base to give it a curve in the bottom so the person looks angry naturally. ew. have u guys noticed that u can predict if a person is a lefty or a right handed person just by lookign at their brows? i do dat and it always workd! u just look at which eyebrow looks worse than the other. i learnd that myself. i think its the whole physics about we have more control over one side of our body than the other(like one profile is better than the other kind of thinking)

^but how does that work considering I pluck both eyebrows using my right hand? I mean, it's not like shaving my airmpits where I have to use my less dominant left hand to shave the right side. With eyebrows, I can reach both with my right hand...

Eyebrows are great. They make the whole look of your face come together. Screw those up and well ... you're screwed.

another mistake is : trying to make your brow look great in every angle. its NEVER gunna look great in every angle unless u get it skinny and thats not correct. the only angle u shud be concerned abotu it the front. dont tilt ur head down and see if both top and bottom curve are the same. i mean who actually looks at u looking down? if u tilt down it shud be a triangle that can have a curved bottom.

thats what i mean u pluck ur eyebrow with the same hand. if u were to use the same per se, in ur condition shave with the right hand for both left AND right arm pit your most likely will hurt and cut urself. That is the same thing with eyebrows except u just dont pluck as good as ur right one. do u not agree dat ur right brow looks better than the left one?
