The Face Thread, the Q's and A's about Foundations, Primers, Powders...

^ mac one are pretty harsh, i think, like i said above i tried mac NC 25 and for some reason in the light they applied the foudation on is perfectly matching, but under sunlight u can definitely tell the foundation is waxy and stuff that is piling up on the hairline is too yellow (like a golden yellow, but my undertone is more creamy-ivory yellow, and more on the cool side, i think).
i heard on the magazine that there is a product call Chanel Teint Innocence, which is quite sheer and come in few quite pale shade. i think u can give it a shot. bobbi brown too, i never tried them before, but their shade goes to pretty pale too. and yes, always try tinted moisturizer, it always works easier.

There is no Bobby Brown where I live, but when I bought my Dior Pure Light, also tried Chanel's Teint Innocence and the palest shade was too dark for me :(

I think I should visit all the counters again and try to find my best match.

Thanks, jjbunny79 ^_^

^ oh u welcome, i need to fine my foundation over the summer too. it is quite stressful for me/

Question for those who have tried both Smashbox photo finish primer and the MAC prep + prime, which do you prefer? Makeup alleys review for MAC is significantly higher than Smashbox, so I'm thinking I should opt for the MAC, however reviews for MAC also claim the difference of wearing the primer is minimal compared to going bare. Does the primer actually make that much of an effect?

^Thanks I'll try and look for that. My problem is that tinted moidturiser is so sheer (Yes I know that is what its supposed to be like) it doesn't cover blemishes, but I really don't want to be wearing foundation on a regular basis

I've tried so many tinted foundations and foundations and I cannot stand the masky feeling. Tinted foundations tend to be completely unnoticeable while providing an orange-ly complex and foundations in general are just disgusting. What I've found works for me is to mix a perfectly matched mineral power with the moisturizer.

I forgot to say this but I found the most amazing concelar from BeneFit :woot: It actually matches my skin tone, and gives a really good coverage but looks natural

^And I totally get you on foundation kateellee

Thank you :winkiss:
I will check it out the next time I come to a Benefit counter.

Does anyone notice their undertone changing during the seasons? I am EXTREMELY neutral in the winter, and I mean extremely beige, not a drop of pink or yellow. BUT in the summer I am very yellow beige. Neutral foundations make me look ashy and cool foundations make me look like a pink ham (as they do too in the winter *damn you pink foundations! damn you!*) whereas a yellow based looks almost porcelain on my PPP skin it matches me so well when I have a tad bit of a tan. So, anyone else?

Has anyone tried the Matte Touch by YSL? It smells lovely, but I'm not sure how long it lasts. I bought the Estée Lauder Face Primer Plus Smoothing Matte Base, and it's quite nice. Makes the skin REALLY soft.

LoL, I don't have enough knowledge of my skintone to really say "Yes" or "No". I know I'm asian, I know that I tan well and easily and that I'm supposed to have a yellow undertone. I know nothing more ;)
