Sounds like a bargain when compared to the 25-30K that resellers are asking!Funny how I don't like in ostrich in black, but think it rocks in green or gold, but only in a smaller size like 30cm. Too much of a good thing can be overwhelming:p

Last time I checked, a year ago, a 40cm HAC in gris ostrich was around 16000 but I don't know the price now...anyway, it's funny how the dollar depreciation made the birkins cheaper in the states...5100 eu= 7574 us for a 35 cm while the current price in the US is 7500...75 is not much but still...I'm expecting the price adjustment by Jan to be over 500 *fingers crossed

Are you in Europe then Foxie?? As I am planning to make a Birkin purchase in early 08, I am wondering by how much the price will be raised in Euros? Hopefully, it'll only be 200-250 Euros on the current price. I have the prices in Euros for the birkin 30 in Togo/clemence -2005 - E4350; 2006 - E4500; 2007 - E4750 (the birkin 35cm is typically around 300 Euros more).

Has anyone heard anything about the predicted 08 increases? Here the seem to come into effect from January rather than Feb which is I think the time for increases in the States.

Eww - black ostrich - it's not really doing it for me either! Gold Ostrich yes and in the smaller sizes. I like the exotics in the birkin 30 or the Kelly 32 nothing more.

Oh Unique, Love rouge vif!! That must be some fabulous bag! Congrats on a great score! I have sen vert anis and it looks great as well!

Everyone has the right to their opinion and this sure would be a dull place if that were not the case! GemH is right, if it is a Hermes bag, it is certain to look good!

I was at the boutique yesterday and they had several troika bags. One was golden hair-calf with ebene leather in a Plume and another was a Kelly. They are very striking looking, but even the SA agreed that they are not bags to take hard wear. Lovely as a novelty item to bring out on special occasions.

Gotta love the H bags!!!!!

I agree the calf hair bags are lovely!!!!!!! Fun combo.

so I was at Hermes today, hoping to place an order for a croc, he told me noway- in january maybe, which is fine. I asked him what 40cms i can order this season, one of them was olive and one was parchement- so i placed an order for parchement w/GH, even though my friend said it will look better with silver- but something about cream and gold i always liked. Now im having 2nd thoughts, should i order the olive instead?
I have a 40cm vert anis, and a 40cm black so i think olive would be too close to those, parchement is perfect for spring i thought- but im not sure, what do you guys think?!

I love the thought of parchement with gold hardware, that will be a gorgeous combination. Very sophisticated.

Parchment! Vert olive is beautiful but you already have one green bag...so I'd prefer parchment

how would parchment look like. chalky?
personally i would go for olive as a first instinct  combined with gold..

leyla its kind of dark cream- i love the olive but i have a black and i have a vert anis- olive is pretty dark so i dont know- the parchement is light- so its totally different-...but olive is pretty

Uniq... I would personally go with the olive with gold HW. I get your point about it being close to the black, but I happen to LOVE all black worn with an olive bag. Plus there is the obvious that it goes with brown, and really cream bags are kind of everywhere, where olive is much rarer. That being said, cream with gold sounds pretty good too...

Even thought I think olive with gold HW is stunning, somehow I think you would be happier with the parchemin. Gold HW will look great and give it some warmth. This color could be worn all year 'round. Def hear you that you have the vert anis and want to go for something different. Think you made a great choice and I wouldn't second guess myself.

ahhhhhh, now i get it.
the colour is parchemin, so the colour of a parchemin im guessing.
hmm, i would go with olive for sure. the idea of cream and gold seems very very old and blah to me ... sorry UNIQ :flower: just my opinion.
the bag is so classic that in my opinion it needs some fresh colour combos to pep it up and knowing your style i am unsure of the parchemin
