i thought i would add my 2 cents. i own the etoupe birkin and am a fan of versatility. this one is great. it goes with honestly everything.... its not black, its not white, its not brown but something in between all those 3 neutrals and still very contemporary and timeless at the same time. i would not miss out on it !!!

^^I can't make my mind up about graphite. When I recently saw it at the boutique I thought it looked a little too close to black. I would like it to have a little more gray in it. Maybe what I am really looking for is charcoal?

Maybe...Which would be really nice as well...I LOVE Graphite in croc (shiny) as it reflects an almost silver patina...I agree it is very dark gray...or a light black if you will.

Leyla, I would LOVE to have an etoupe bag, but every time I try one I just can't get past a major case of the blahs. Are my clothes too neutral? Do you wear many colors? I'm so wedded to black and white it is pathetic. In theory that should look great with etoupe, but on on me. Any suggestions?

Gem. I think your called graphite off black is a perfect description. I ask myself why I should get something graphite in the same bag that I already own in black? So the answer is that I have to find graphite in something other than kelly or birkin. What else have you seen in graphite?

I've seen graphite only in croc, I must admit, My sister has a lovely croc Kelly in graphite...I've seen the Lindy in it as well as a wallet. I do see your point about having black and not needing another dark bag...

Oh! Your lucky sister! I think graphite in shiny croc is supposed to look lighter. Would love that in a Jige! YUM!

Bolide sightings?

I'm looking to get a 37cm Bolide in black (I don't know what leather, though). Any sightings out there lately? My husband called the Paris store yesterday, and they don't have one (sold it last week - can you believe my luck?) They told him to "call around" to other stores, but I though the forum gals could help.

I just had to jump in here - I have etoupe Birkin and I just love it. At first I wasn't sure I'd be able to use it as much as I do, but the color seems to go with everything. Jane, you might be right about coloring - I have dark red hair, and don't wear a lot of bright colors, so maybe that all works together.

It is a bolide in black (exactly what I asked for), but he's not sure about the leather. We'll see - it should be here on Monday, but I have to wait to actually use it. Today, he says, "I didn't even ask if they had any Birkins. I should have, ha?" Before we met, he wouldn't even know a Prada bag, let alone a Birkin, if it hit him in the face, now he's in the "circle". What a guy indeed!

well monaco is THE kelly country isnt it . but they almost never have any on display...
actually i never mentioned it but this year they had a SILENT AUCTION at the store for a one off Kelly with Grace Kelly on it to honour her.. i wonder how much it went for

For Jane Tudor, Grill and all. I went back and found a copy of a picture I took of my Kelly bag. Here it is.



I'm actually not sure if it's rigid or supple (hate to admit this) but it has some flexibility so I think supple. For me the size works because I have a little extra on my hips and the larger size bags balance out my figure and disguise that area. Believe me, no one notices my hips when I'm carrying an H bag! Can I justify a bag purchase or what!

And yes, I am "of a certain age;" in my 40's. I remember being a little girl with my Mom showing me magazine pictures of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn. She dearly loved both of them. I also remember "dressing" to go to town. I still do that.

BYW, an Ebene Birkin sounds lovely. Now that I've bought a few bags from the same boutique (San Francisco) maybe they'll let me place an order.

My vote is for a Rouge H Kelly w/ Gold Hardware. Good luck. I'm sure whatever you pick will be divine.

There is....I find that kinda shocking... I saw a link once to there and they had a gold 35cm Birkin listed on there.....I don't know.....I question the site......
