As it continues to build up anticipation, the much awaited movie "The Hunger Games" has released its final poster via The Huffington Post.

The latest offering comes just over a month ahead of the Gary Ross directed picture's scheduled theatrical release date of March 23rd.

Thanks!! It´s a really good poster. I can´t believe the planned the movie to come out this late. It´s been months since I finished the books and I need the movie to full-fiel the emptiness, haha! Just kindding, but really, I can´t wait to see it!

Elizabeth Banks Says Effie’s Look Is ‘Like Six Different People’s Interpretations, Mixed Together’

Although Elizabeth Banks was promoting her new film, Man on a Ledge, Crave Online was able to get in some Hunger Games-related questions (which we always appreciate!). Check out part of the interview:

I saw some stills of you in the film and you have a very distinctive look. Is that just the style in the future?

Everything that we did in the movie is based very specifically on the book. We are very faithful to the book. So Suzanne Collins, the author of The Hunger Games, came up with all this crazy, kinky stuff for what she wanted everybody to look like, and we put it into the movie. So don’t blame me.

Oh, I’m not complaining. I think it’s hot.

We all sort of collaborated […] Everybody who reads the book has their own image in their mind and interprets it in their own way. So our version of Effie is, it’s like six different people’s interpretations, mixed together and put into this.

I’m really looking forward to seeing it. I keep looking at this book and thinking, “Oh, I should read that, but I’m so busy…”

It will take you five hours to read the whole thing. You will not be able to put it down.

Were you a fan before you signed on to the movie?

Yes, I’m actually a proud fan. I was an early adopter of the books. I read the books long before they were bestsellers. It was given to me by a publishing friend, and so I had checked them out forever ago.

The movie starts with last year's Hunger Games and then jumps to Katniss/Gale/forest scene. Also, Foxface's name is Marissa.

Not a very trustworthy source but I would love the movie to start that way, people are always wanting to see previous games ^^

^Well from what I can see The Capitol's interior design looks pretty awesome. Very much how I pictured it. Also, The Hunger Games made a cameo on 30 Rock this week. It was AWESOME.

I have a horrible sinking feeling that this movie will not live up to expectations. On a purely visual level, something about the production design seems very.... cutesy. I mean, I know the Capitol is supposed to be kind of that way (Effie and her pink obsession, etc.) but reading about things in the book I always imagined the capitol fashions being cutesy but in an almost distrubing way. And District 12 doesn't look as ghastly as I think it should (talk about a pathetic fence enclosure..... it should be way more threatening). I also don't like the costumes in general. They seem far too current. I think they should have hired Colleen Atwood to do the costumes. And the casting/styling of the characters looks too cleaned-up as well. Cato and Gale are the most striking examples. They just look like your average "hot" High School (well, maybe college haha) kids. I just wish this looked like it had more edge.... like it was exactly true to the books. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.


That said, I will be there opening day with my $10 in hand hoping for the best, even if I'm kind of expecting the worst.
