They were supposed to be 12 so it would be stupid to have other actors for the scene...I mean people don't change so much from 12 until 16

Exactly. Not everything translates directly from the book to the screen, these are absolutely different mediums and so changes have to be made.

That dress looks very suspicious to me. I got a feeling post-production team will pimp the hell out of it.

i'm starting to be seriously hyped for this movie, tbh.
their promo strategy is def working. :D

The girl who play's Rue is too cute! Which mean's I'm going to cry bucket's when she dies in the film. She looks exactly how I pictured Rue. I love how much promotion they have done for the movie yet how at the same time it doesn't seem overwhelming because they are keeping the key scenes a secret rather then basically showing the whole movie in the trailer. I think we will have seen quite a lot of the first 10-30 mins of the movie but once they get to the Capitol that's where everything will be a surprise. I'm SO excited! :woot:

It's tracking huge!
BREAKING… EXCLUSIVE: Hollywood was buzzing early this morning over the first set of tracking numbers for Lionsgate’s film series The Hunger Games. With 23% ‘First Choice’ and 54% ’Definite Interest’, those are numbers every film studio can only dream about. One studied provided me with a guesstimate that the first film based on the Suzanne Collins bestselling books could open to $70+M — which would make this bigger than the the Twilight debut. “It’s every bit as strong As Twilight and, numerically, stronger,” one rival studio told me this morning. Seasonality may play a factor because The Hunger Games is opening in March, not summer. “But the numbers, while they definitely skew to young females, look strong across all quadrants.” Said another studio: “It’s a great start.”

i hope it'll be bigger than twatlight. it's got a great female character and these books/movies aren't just for little girls but have a much bigger and wider audience. i can't wait for the first reviews, hope it'll be good, everything so far looked great

^ Me too. It's the only series that I can see filling the gap HP has left. I also want it to be successful so Jennifer can break out in a big way she is so refreshing.

Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence gets ready to shoot an arrow on the cover of Entertainment Weekly‘s latest issue, on newsstands Friday (March 2).
Here’s what the stars of the movie had to share:
Woody Harrelson, on checking out Lenny Kravitz‘s clothes: “Lenny had these racks of all these different clothes for his stage show, or I suppose just for him in life. We’d all try on his jackets and shirts and wild clothes and take pictures and laugh. I mean, I’m telling you, this was a great group of people.”
Josh Hutcherson, on getting ready for Hunger Games insanity: “I’m constantly texting [Jennifer], like ‘Oh, boy, here we go,’” he says. “It’s kind of like we’re getting ready for our own Hunger Games.”

“Is it violent?” says director Gary Ross of his PG-13 film. “Yes. Do we back off from what it is? No, we don’t.”
The March 23 release of The Hunger Games is nearly upon us. While we can’t make the clock turn any faster, we can offer fans of Suzanne Collins’ best-selling dystopian trilogy (and newcomers, too) a deep, behind-the-scenes look into the making of the film, from conception to casting, filming to marketing.
Perhaps no bit of casting news was met with greater surprise than Lenny Kravitz taking on the role of Cinna, hero Katniss Everdeen’s deeply cool and compassionate stylist. Kravitz was working on his album, living out of a trailer in the Bahamas and oblivious to the Hunger Games phenomenon, when Ross first approached him to offer him the part. The director had been moved by the musician’s gentle grace in Precious and was further intrigued by the fact that Kravitz already felt a nurturing bond with star Jennifer Lawrence, who had become close friends with his daughter Zoe during the filming of X-Men: First Class. “I love that girl,” says Kravitz. “The minute I met her she became a part of the family.”
It took one sleepless night of reading a downloaded version of The Hunger Games in his trailer for Kravitz to commit. But Woody Harrelson, who initially turned down the role of Katniss and Peeta’s sodden wreck of a mentor Haymitch, was a harder sell. “Listen, I’m nuts,” he explains. “It was just a stupid thing where I hadn’t read the books yet. I didn’t see that there was enough for me to do in the script. But then Gary called me back and said ‘You got to do this, I don’t have a second choice for the role.’ And of course flattery always gets the best of me so I read the books and really saw the depths of this guy. Holy s—, I would have been bummed to miss this.”

Why does Jennifer is always that photoshoped on her Katniss covers?

Same here. I really hope that it's bigger and better then Twilight (though I like how you called in twatlight ). I have a lot of hope for this film because Katniss is such a strong character and she's a good character to look up too. I'd rather my little cousins (and quite frankly myself) look up to Katniss then Bella. Katniss save's herself (and Peeta too) unlike Bella who just's waits for a man to rescue her from a situation. And we need more female character's like Katniss on the theater screens.

Dear Readers, I’ve just had the opportunity to see the finished film of The Hunger Games. I’m really happy with how it turned out. I feel like the book and the film are individual yet complementary pieces that enhance one another. The film opens up the world beyond Katniss’ point of view, allowing the audience access to the happenings of places like the Hunger Games control room and President Snow’s rose garden, thereby adding a new dimension to the story. Director Gary Ross has created an adaptation that is faithful in both narrative and theme, but he’s also brought a rich and powerful vision of Panem, its brutality and excesses, to the film as well. His world building’s fantastic, whether it be the Seam or the Capitol. It’s amazing to see things that are suggested in the book fully developed and so brilliantly realized through the artistry of the designers. And, my God, the actors. The cast, led by the extraordinary Jennifer Lawrence, is absolutely wonderful across the board. It’s such a pleasure to see how they’ve embodied the characters and brought them to life. So I’d like to sincerely thank all the many people who devoted their time and talents to the film, especially producers Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik, and the excellent teams at Color Force, Larger Than Life, and Lionsgate. I hope you enjoy the film!
-Suzanne Collins

I'm too excited for this, I can't even.

It's perfect. The way she conveys emotion, her energy just radiates off the screen. Perfect.

I am really looking forward to seeing this! I recently saw a trailer for it and it seemed so epic! The difference between The Hunger Games and Twilight is that The Hunger Games has decent actors and a lead actress who HAS facial expressions. (I'm looking at you, I-can't-move-my-face Kirsten Stewart).
