she looks good as always but I don't see any emotion or appeal to that image, there's no beauty or fashion linked to her, it's almost like a blank image, which is so not what Joan is. So they did not do her justice with that shot, especially for a cover.

I disagree. I wouldn't call it blank, I think of nature & innocence. She can't be va-va-voom all the time. Sometimes the best covers are the ones that are very simple.
