Suite francaise - I loved this!

Thank you for bringing Suite Française to my attention! I just saw the trailer and I really want to see it now! I also want to read the book it's based off of as well.

Maybe because I was really concentrated, or maybe because Matthias Schoenaerts was so yummy, but I really couldn't stop thinking about the movie.

 Not gonna lie, I saw Matthias Schoenaerts in the trailer and I like HELLO :shifty: That and the film has had good reviews, and what a cast! :D

White Dog (2015).
Blind (2015).
Tristana (1970).
Latin Lover (2015).
Aprendiendo a conducir (2015).

I'd like to hear your opinion after you have watched it :flower:

I enjoyed Suite Française! Although it is not the focus of the film, nevertheless I felt the film gave me an interesting glance into the flight of those fleeing their homes in the city to seek refuge in the country only to be kept guard under the eyes of the enemy in deceptively peaceful conditions.

I particularly liked the complex personalities of many of the characters; it was not so easy to cleanly decide whose side you were on, what with conflicts between the heart and duty (as crummy as that sounds). I'm very eager to read Irène Némirovsky's (uncompleted :( ) novel of the same name—from what I've read the film is centrally focused on the Part II of the novel "Dolce" but draws upon the outlines of Part I and some of the unfinished Part III. I'd also really like to see more films Matthias has been in (I hear 'Rust and Bone'/De rouille et d'os) is rather good), he's got a new fan :P:heart:

He is also in "Far from the maddening crowd" with Carey Mulligan and Michael Sheen.
I saw it yesterday (I have also read the novel), and I liked him!!!

I watched the three hour Bollywood epic 'Devdas' for the second time in my life a few days ago, it's so beautifully shot.
I was crying a racking cry at the end of the film.
