The little white dress S/S 07

We DO see it every summer, but this summer more than in a long time. And a lot of them are really crisp, not too many embroideries or broderie anglaise, as last year.

But ilaughead has a point - how to wearable are they?!
(I know i would end up looking like a mess if i wore one to a party - just the thought of someone knocking over a drink anywhere near me... The horror!)

Miu Miu (I love this one!)

Just keep a Tide-to-go pen in your handbag^_^ . And as far as being the opposite of slimming, I don't think that's a real problem unless the dres doesn't fit well or isn't made well. Otherwise I think it should still flatter. Especially with bare legs and arms too maybe. THat makes it look slimmer I think. And this is definately a time when tall nude pumps would help with the elongating business.

pink satin / I agree with you completely!

LWDs are my favorite: I've never met one I didn't like. Case and point: I'd wear every dress in this thread  All of them offer something different: Marc Jacobs is all ruffles and girly, Stella McCartney is willowy and oversized, Versace is sexy.

The LWDs with lace and/or chiffon have a certain femininity associated with them,. I can see those worn over jeans, leggings, or even under other dresses. Feminine, delicate, flirty!

Antonio Berardi did a few in his s/s 07 collection, all darling.

The first two by Luca Luca are really flattering - i love it when dresses have pockets! Wich alsoe seems to be a big trend this season...

And the second one from Antonio Berardi have this shirt-feeling that makes it so wearable!

I have to gorgeus white dresses that I never wear. I feel too cutesy, and I am no fan of cutesy. I don't want to look like a little girl. I have an amazing asymmetric white grecian dress that I have worn once (it's def. for evening). And a babydoll-ish grecian dress for day that I have no idea how to wear. I think I look pregnant in it  It's such a shame, it is a very lovely dress.

So how wearable are white dresses? White should do exactly the opposite of the slimming black, but can it still work?

I love looking at all the white dress ... so clean and fresh but yes, the wearability is a problem. There's a friend's wedding coming up soon and it's by the beach so a white dress would be perfect. But I imagine spilling red wine on it....

i love white! i always wear alot spring & summer, like most of you also did. i also like the pockets that have been on alot of dresses. what i dont like about white is that sometimes the material is so pretty, but it's sheer or see-through =/

i think many details on the lwd this season will be silver, since metallics are also "in"

catherine malandrino
this ones not very flattering, but the details are pretty

Oh My GOD!! I have been dreaming of a white dress to wear for a week now. The weather is so hot here, that the only thing I want to wear is LWD, so clean, so flowy, so delicate, so pretty, so soft, so presentable.

Lately I can't get enough of white. Either I'm wanting to get married, subconsciously, or I'm just intent on projecting an image of innocence.

:ninja:

Though I must say, these 'catchphrase' acronyms like LWD drive me insane. I have enough trouble distinguishing little black dress from lesbian bed death already.

I didn't even think of staining! That would be a problem!

Every summer, white's in, and every summer I still manage to find about 500 white dresses that I absolutely adore.

My favorite 'trend'... or staple rather. Chloe never disappoints.

I like this trend a lot too, it was around last year as well. I think white looks incredibly refreshing in winter as well.

A white dress with black accents + black opaques = perfection.

^^ Absolutely. Black accents with a simple white dress look great! I love the Marchesa + Chloe ones!

I adore Preen - totally romantic.
White sensation - really :) Thank you for the pictures , too!
