I was pretty horrified when I looked at that album cover years later and realized what it meant. I memorized the lyrics to every song on that album!

I think the 1970s lingered in the Nebraskan hinterlands well into the 1980s.

The Dr. Kit was what I had fervently wished for for Christmas when I was 6. Because back then I wanted to be a veterinarian when I grew up, and I needed a doctor kit to keep my teddy bears and toy horse healthy!

This list is too funny! I passed it along to my mom, who got a kick out of some of the things on here as well--she proudly wore her Dorothy Hamill haircut back in the day (along with virtually every other girl in her school!), and one of her good friends had the 'wing' hairstyle. And, though I don't see it on the list, one of my mom's yearbook photographs shows her wearing colorful tinted eyeglasses.
