The MAC Makeup Thread

Call or write (email) the company and complain. I can assure you that they take it VERY seriously and the emails get forwarded to the store manager and the MUA's do get counciling or a write up (if they've been counciled before).

Just be specific about time and descriptions :)

I want, I want!

Yes...I'm blonde and light complected and deciphering which color to go with...they are all so gorgeous, I wish all the colors worked!

I just bought the new "Wild Girl" lipglass from MAC. Great color! Bright pink w/lots of glitter! I bought it because it was created for the movie The Girl Next Door, for the p*rn star character. Anyone find anything great lately?

well its not MAC lipglass (which i love btw) but i found the greatest foundation...its shiseido CREAM foundation (not their fluid foundation)...its like pution a lotion on your face, its lgiht but covers everything. i highly recommend it!

I've recently had a bit of a makeup spending spree at the Benefit counter. And I love all the following things I got:

Dr. Feelgood face balm
Georgie face powder
Dandelion face powder
Benetint cheek and lip stain
Boi-ing concealer
Lemon-aid eyelid primer

I've always wanted to try MAC Lipglass but we haven't got a MAC counter very near. I always go to MAC when I'm in London in Carnaby Street and it all looks great, but by the time I ever get to Carnaby Street, I've run out of money! Might buy some lipglass when I'm in Florida next month! That sounds like a great shade!

How did that work out for you? I have a tremendously oily face and I was wondering if I should get that but I was worried that it wouldn't be as effective on my frying pan of a face :ninja:

i have dr.feelgood face balm. :) it's fab! :woot:
my skin isn't too oily so it's fine on bare skin
but if you have oily skin then you can use it over you foundation/concealer to set the makeup.

Parts of my face are rather oily, particularly my nose, and this mattified it perfectly. It's the only thing I've ever found that keeps my skin matte right through until I clean it off before I go to bed. Way better than powder and means I don't have to do touch-ups during the day. I highly recommend it!

Dr Feelgood seemed to make my face oilier! I wish it had worked on my oily skin, it's a great idea. I'm back to blotting papers...

Okay, I've always wanted to get some MAC lipglass. I've been in their little store in Carnaby Street many times but normally, by the time I get to Carnaby Street I've run out of money. Anyway, I'm finally gonna get a chance to get some but I don't know what shade!! I was thinking 'Prr'. I have pale skin, brown hair and blue eyes. Any help would be very much appreciated!

Try 'Oyster Girl', it's a really nice pale pink, goes with most eye colours because it's quite subtle ;)

Prr is really pretty-a pinky peach with pearl. More peach, I think.

I love the new Viva Glam Lipglass-it is the perfect pink with pearl.

Nymphette is really great too-a golden pink.

have fun shopping!

the essential lipglasses for me are oyster girl // nymphette // dreamy // cultured // c-thru // prr & oh baby.

all of them are nude colours which will suit almost everyone :flower:
i say try them all out then take your pick. ;)

Has anyone tried the russian red lipglass? How red is it? Is it sheer or more opaque?

if you just use a little it can be sheer. I like the V Red Lipglass but I think it may have been limited.

I have a total of 4 or 5 (don't remember) lip glass tubes but the handiest one is the clear one. You can layer in on pretty much any lipstick or you can wear it alone.

russian red is pretty sheer but the color is very bright. so a lil goes a LONG way.

if you want a more opaque red, i would go for old flame LAC LUSTRE. it's not a lipglass. it's more rich & creamy with no high gloss shine. & the colour is RED.
russian red is sorta bluey/cold red. = /

hope that helps.

I really love Prr, it's such a pretty pink.

Unfortunately lipglasses always leave my lips with those nasty white lines (i do moisturize and no other lipgloss does this), so i had to give up on it :(

PradaP - those white lines usually happen when you are reapplying the lipglass without wiping off what was left on from the last application. If your lips still feel sticky but the color is gone, get rid of the stickyness first, then reapply.

Good luck.
