The Official Golden Globes 2006 Thread

what did ryan philippe do that was so called "for attention"?? I didn't watch the Globes and noticed a couple of comments in reference to Ryan & Reese.. thanks in advance!!

I liked Evangeline Lilly's dress, makeup everything better on camera then in pictures.. For some reason. And that color did wonderful things for her eyes!^_^

Marcia was just gorgeous. She (or her stylist) always knows what colors look great with her hair/coloring. Her dress reminded me a bit of an orange grecian michael kors that Jlo once wore.
Does anyone know who designed it?

Let's start with the bad shall we...

Vanessa Paradis: anorexic teenager anyone? How that woman has managed to have two children is anyone's guess. She and Johnny need a good scrub and some sleek styling (liv4beauty knows the score!!) I appreciate that retro is back - but forever hanging in a sack dress from the 20's does nothing for her............

Anne Hathaway: boring boring boring she is so young why wear a dowdy dark blue frock then team it with garish red lippy. It made her look like a clown and clashed so badly with the dress. Not to mention that hair - obviously she tried to cut her own fringe then realised how crap it looked so glued it back to her skull with more hair gel than my 15 year old brother. It ended with a wierdly choppy up do that did nothing for her face and certainly didn't aid the overall look.

Drew Barrymore: Get a bra babe, or maybe even a L I F T if you get my drift. Her boobs were down near her elbows - no kidding (see pg 38ish). My Mum and I were discussing boob jobs who has/hasn't and boy were we surprised to see those babies heading toward the ground. And to whomever suggested the addition of some Bridget Jones style suck 'em in pants -well snaps to that. Because that's not far off the mark either....

The good: was loving Gwyneth and Rachel (Weisz) pregnancy seems to agree very well with them and regardless of their outfits (which I really liked) they just had such happy, smiley, glowy faces that they pretty much distracted me from any fashion faux pas.

Evangeline Lily: Good on her for being different and dragging some colour onto the carpet, she looks great with a tan in that dress. Imagine someone pale and pasty e.g Nicole Kidman in it and you'll see what I mean.

Oh and on a dress note - Sandra Oh definately wore Collette Dinigan - an Australian designer. It was in most of the papers here this morning :)

Forgot to say that although there was a lot of Audrey happening in Natalie Portman's look I think facially she looked like a young Julie Andrews especially with the style of her hair. Anyone agree?

I also like Gwyneth better on camera then in pictures.. Her hair looked a bit frizzy/alot of flyaways but it was sort of a romantic updo and I thought it looked beautiful

Thanks eternitygoddess.

SJP, Charlize and Natalie P were all just disappointing and boring. Gwenyth looked terrible, although at least she saved some $ by just wearing old bedsheets.

Also- I feel bad for Drew- her stylist (or someone) should have told her that dress was not great on her.
The color and idea was nice but the whole boob area was terrible.

Cojo just had his best dressed list:

#5. Marcia Cross
#4 Gwenyth Paltrow
#3 Charlize Theron
#2 Reese Witherspoon
#1 Keira Knightly

Pamela Anderson -- Worst dressed

Hmm Basically Ryan had a few jumping up and down moments when Reese won - he was acting very Boxing coach before they announced the winner. Massaging her shoulders then he gave her a big slap on the back/bum when she won.

The biggest thing though would be when Joaquin won and he was out of his chair again rubbing his hands together in the money sign - as in 'you owe me'. It went on for quite a bit and finally when Joaquin got up on stage he said I'll pay, I'll pay. So it seems that had a bet but there was no need for Ryan to spoil his moment by drawing all the attention to himself!

i hated what Teri wore. i thought Geena looked wonderful. i would have loved Emmy's dress if it had been a more striking color. deep violet would've been good. Nicollette actually looked great tonight.

Scarlett Johansson needs to do something about those boobs. I know they're beautiful and she loves them and all, but she doesn't have to always stick them in our faces. - eternitygoddess

She is doing something about them - she's using them. Her boobs are natural and beautiful and she has every right to show them. She's a sexy young thing and shouldn't feel the need to cover up her god-given assets to look guant like the Olsens, Renee Z. and co.

Long live natural cleavage. :D

we're not talking voluptuous versus skinny, but fashionable versus not. this is the golden globes, not the pussycat dolls. even my husband, a big fan of the big bosom, thought she would have looked better in a dress that didn't scream "look at my t*ts!" I thought she looked fine, but she has looked better.

I like Drew's dress. It would have looked better if she had worn a bra.
