Why are black models always singled out for disdain on TFS? I noticed this with Chanel Iman when she was the only model of color out of 10 on the Vogue cover last year and everyone was livid. Now we have a magazine with 4 VS models, 3 of whom are white with 2 being Brazilian and someone has the nerve to ask why Selita is on the cover and not yet another Brazilian model? The subtle racism on this board is discouraging at times.

My comment had nothing to do with racism, as I am not in the lightest. I made my comment simply because Alessandra is one of my favorite models and Selita is not one of my favorites. That's all

I personally believe that Selita is an inferior model to the rest and it has NOTHING to do with race. I would've much preferred to the cover to have oluchi and jessica white instead of adriana and izabel.

A lot - not ALL, but a lot - of people don't like Chanel because they don't think she's very good at her job. I mean, come on. Who can't remember the names of their own clients? Stella McCartley? Dol-say and Gabbana? That's pathetic. On a similar note, not many people like Selita because she isn't on the same professional level as the rest of the Angels. And furthermore, putting aside the fact that the original commenter clarified her comment as missing a personal favourite, Alessandra exceeds Selita in rank by a few years so it IS odd that she isn't in the shoot.

Personally, I think despite their less professional behavior, Chanel and Selita are still both gorgeous girls. It's not always about race. It's discouraging when people make it out to be when it's not.

I have to agree with that.
I remember watching the last show Tyra did (2005 i think?) and noticed that Selita was trying to walk and smile like Tyra was doing throughout the show.

It kind of annoyed me.
