Babyshambles man plays solo gig in London

Pete Doherty played a solo show at London’s Rhythm Factory venue last night (December 16), running through a variety of Babyshambles and songs.
The evening had got off to a chaotic start before Doherty’s arrival.
During support band the Television Personalities’ set, Alan Wass, former singer of -associated band Left Hand, invaded the stage.
Standing at the front of the stage looking highly intoxicated, Wass refused to leave the frontman position, despite the band’s continued aggressive calls for him to leave.
Eventually five security guards bundled Wass from the stage, allowing the Television Personalities to continue.
Later in the evening, at 11:55pm GMT, Doherty took the stage wearing a suit, baggy white shirt and necklace, performing opener ‘F*** Forever’ with just electric guitar.
After performing ‘Carry On Up The Morning’ Doherty defied the smoking ban by puffing on a lit cigarette.
Then before playing ‘UnBiloTitled’, the Babyshambles man chanted “Rangers ‘til I die”, a reference to his favourite football club, Queen’s Park Rangers.
In the middle of the set, just before performing ‘You’re My Waterloo’, a fan threw a plastic cup at the stage, prompting Doherty to laugh and say, “What was that – a Christmas present?”
The jovial tone took a darker edge slightly later on, however, as during the last song of the main set, ‘Music When The Lights Go Out’, a female fan in the front row passed out due to dehydration and had to be carried backstage by security, where she came to.
Following a short break Doherty returned for a three-song encore then left the stage to rapturous applause.
“It went alright!” Doherty told NME.COM as he left the stage. “There were a few songs I haven’t played there in f***ing years!
“The last time I did a solo set for that length of time was at Hackney Empire,” he continued, referring to the gigs he played in April this year. It was great!”
Pete Doherty played:
'F*** Forever'
'Pay The Lady'
'Don't Look Back Into The Sun'
'Carry On Up The Morning'
'The Delaney'
'Death On The Stairs'
'UnBiloTitled'
'Never Never'
'La Belle Et La Bette'
'Tell The King'
'You're My Waterloo'
'For Lovers'
'What A Waster'
'Can't Stand Me Now'
'Lady Don't You Fall Backwards'
'Bollywood To Battersea'
'Time For Heroes'
'Dilly Boys'
'The Blinding'
'Bucket Shop'
'Through The Looking Glass'
'Up The Bracket'
'Music When The Lights Go Out'
'I Wish'

dailymail.co.ukAmy Winehouse's dad Mitch blasts 'scumbag' Pete Doherty.
Last updated at 19:04pm on 18th December 2007
Amy Winehouse's father Mitch admits he "went crazy" when he found out his troubled daughter had struck up a friendship with self-confessed drug addict Pete Doherty.
While cab driver Mitch doesn't go into details about his confrontation with Doherty, he admits he was disgusted to see the Babyshambles frontman backstage at Amy's gig at Brixton Academy earlier this month.
It has been claimed that Mitch smacked Doherty and hit him with a guitar at the Brixton concert.
Speaking to Grazia magazine, Mitch said: "I do worry about people like Pete Doherty though. He's a scumbag.
"I flipped when I saw him sitting with Amy backstage at her Brixton gig. That night I went crazy.
"My wife thought I was going to have a heart attack, I was apoplectic..."

Mystery blonde: Doherty backstage with an admirer at his concert
Since her husband Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, was remanded in custody on charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice, Amy, 24, has turned to Doherty for a shoulder to cry on.
The pair, both fighting drug addictions, are said to be collaborating on a song called You Hurt The Ones You Love.
The Babyshambles singer put in a shambolic performance last night at The Rhythm Factory in Whitechapel, east London, losing his shoes and socks as he dived off the stage and appearing distracted by a mystery blonde woman at the side of the stage.

'Scumbag': Amy's father Mitch Winehouse is no fan of Pete Doherty
He has been photographed entering Winehouse's home at 4am and was then spotted backstage at her Brixton Academy gig last month.
Mitch also hit back at criticisms that he should 'kidnap' Amy and force her into rehab.
He explained: "Believe me, my first instinct is to get hold of her, pick her up and take her back to my house and lock her away.
"But I've spoken to the finest drug counsellors in the world, and they've said that is exactly the wrong thing to do."
Mitch admitted he had been impressed by Amy's husband Blake Fielder-Civil's attempt to clean-up since he was imprisoned last month for perverting the course of justice.
Despite being against the whirlwind marriage earlier this year, Mitch says he respects Amy's choice of husband.
"I wasn't in favour of the marriage, but they are married and I will support them, and he's shown while he's been in prison a level of maturity that he didn't have before.
"I haven't seen him, but Amy says he's put on two stone and he's asking for her help to improve in a number of ways, and that's good to hear."
Meanwhile, Mitch concedes Amy is struggling being separated from her husband.
He said: "I know the real problem is she's depressed about Blake being in prison."
The singer's father told Grazia that painfully thin Amy suffers from "self-loathing".
"It's clear there are self-image issues, self-loathing. We were recently looking at photos of her five years ago, when she was curvy, and she said, 'I look really happy there'.
"I said, 'Aren't you happy now, darling?' And she said, 'I've been happier'. There was a realisation there."

Babyshambles Cancel Gig After Pete Doherty Falls Ill
British rockers Babyshambles were forced to abandon their London gig on Tuesday night after frontman Pete Doherty was taken ill midway through their set. The troubled star is alleged to be suffering from a bout of flu, which caused him to vomit and faint backstage at the Rhythm Factory prior to taking to the stage.
Doherty, a recovering drug addict, managed to perform eight tracks with his band before he was forced to leave the stage, insisting he was too sick to continue The band attempted to finish the set with guitarist Mick Whitnall on vocals for a solo rendition of I Wish, before choosing a different fan each time for performances of their songs Delivery, Albion and F**k Forever.
During F**k Forever, bassist Drew McConnell joked "Thanks for humoring Babyshambles karaoke." The concert was the last of their three-night residency at the East London venue.
A spokesperson for Doherty confirmed the singer's illness was not the result of drugs, saying, "(Doherty's) seen a doctor and is fine, but exhausted."

Doherty denies ITV documentary
Pete Doherty is rubbishing suggestions that he's working on a tell-all show for ITV2. Not going to happen, he claims:
"Just for the record, this is, of course, complete bollockss."
We don't know why he's so outraged that anyone would consider the programme to be a possibility - after all, he's published his diaries, he's given tattling-interviews to tabloids: why would doing the same on TV be such an unimaginable step?

Kate Moss gets New Year’s text from Pete Doherty
Kate Moss reportedly had a bust-up with new boyfriend Jamie Hince - after the 33-year-old supermodel received a text message from her ex-boyfriend Pete Doherty.
According to reports, ‘The Kills’ frontman, 39, was not impressed - and was furious with Kate.
A source told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “They didn’t speak for around 2 hours and just sat apart from each other glaring.”
But the pair didn’t stay mad at each other for long.
“Eventually they kissed and made up,” adds the source.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Kate wants to clean up her act in 2008 - and plans to to make it the year of the family.
Kate, who in November last year revealed she wanted a nanny like Mrs Doubtfire, is giving 65-year-old Mary Davidson - her pal Sadie Frost’s mum - her own section of her North London house to create a more “family-friendly” atmosphere.
A source close to Kate told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “Kate knows that Mary being there will ground her and make her home a far more stable environment for her five-year-old daughter, Lila Grace.
“She’s so excited about Mary moving in and doing lots of cooking and baking for her and her little girl.
“One of the conditions that Mary was brought in the first place was to make the whole place more homely.
“This is Kate’s way of cleaning up her act for 2008. It’s the year that she wants to make her life become more family-orientated.”
