How come this awards ceremony went ahead but the Golden Globes got canned?

well i guess since it's a screen actor's GUILD thing, i dont think it's in the interest of the writer's guild to interfere with it? or something like that?

^it is. there were no awards given out to writers at this event only to the screen actors and the films and tv series themselves. so it didn't clash with their intentions. plus,GG really only got canned because they picketed and the actors were not crossing.
