The Shu Uemura Makeup Thread

is it said somewhere that it's killed for the brushes? I mean like guess said you don't need to kill an animal for it's hair - it's not the same as fur

i would investigate it a bit further

I read that they are trapped but I couldnt find anywhere that they are killed. Weather they are or not I'm not sure but I'm not really ok with trapping them either  I wont be buying anymore kolinsky brushes but I already have all the ones I need anyway.

I had no idea either. How upsetting. Why on earth would you pay that much for a brush anyway? There is absolutely no need for a make up brush made of that hair...

The brushes arent all $300, they range from about 60 to 280 and I do think the quality is worth the price but not the killing of endangered animals

^I am PRETTY sure they just have to brush the animals. Animal hair comes off very easily and surely big cosmetics brands couldn't risk loosing the support of so many fans by going through the harder and more costly process of killing or trapping the animals.

I have started to switch to Shu Uemura products because Japanese cosmetics regulation is getting heavier and heavier by the minute. I just got their Loose Powder Matte in colorless today, it works wonderfully and feels so delicate on my skin!

I love their sculpting/shaping foundation as well. I've been rotating around a few foundations lately... I used to think the shu uemura foundation was mediocre, but after using Giorgio Armani, NARS, MAC and 450345043 other brands of foundation. I actually am really thinking of going back to it.The coverage is a bit thick so I like to use it on special occasions only. Their brow pencil is fabulous... I outta take a picture of mine as we speak. I don't know if they do it in other countries, but over here they shape your shu uemura brow pencils like this:

Oh and, I wanna buy their primer/UV base but the reviews aren't so good. Has anyone tried it before?

love their blushes v much, though....

It'll still be online, just no stores/counters.

I discovered Face Architect a couple of weeks ago, and now it's my favourite foundation, absolutely amazing!

has anyone used the white pencil? i sometimes use it under my eye to brighten. i smudge it quite a bit so it isnt really obvious. also, has anyone used any of their products for under eye concealer/dark circles, perhaps the brightener?

must say: face architect is a fab foundation, i'm a repeated buyer of that as well as their phyto moisturizers and eye pencils. i just hope i will be able to continue to buy this online, i dont know whether to stock up or believe them.
