^ how much to their tickets cost!?
too much IMO. Students pay half price so I paid 50 bucks (in Reais - Brazilian money - so that's worth like 125 dollars). But regular price is from R$100 to R$250!

actually, I'm mistaken. R$50 is worth around U$20. Still, it's 50 bucks. Which is not that much compared to 250...

^ ok..... fiou..... i was like.... are they like the rolling stones or what to charge that much for a show..... god...... thats quite a relief.... i thought fame had gotten to their head lol.....

^It's also a festival, isn't it? That always costs alot more. I paid £65 for Reading day ticket, which works out at $113.00 or so..

Aww you're so lucky you're seeing them, and so soon! The gigs the end of the month - be sure to let us know how it went :)

I heard Juice Box the other day and hated it on first listen, I deleted it off my ipod straight away. It just didn't appeal at all. I had no idea it was brand new tho just thought it was some long lost song I'd never come across.

His face looks so SKINNY! Like he's had surgery, he's lost all weight from his face..

Strokes Confirm Album Title, Release Date, Tracks Amy Phillips reports:
Julian Casablancas, the rumors are true: On January 3, fashion plates/punching bags the Strokes will release their hotly anticipated third album, entitled First Impressions of Earth. It's said to be "heavier" and "more diverse" than the group's two previous full-lengths, but whose third record isn't? We're also guessing it's "more soulful" and "the album the band has always wanted to make." The disc will contain the following songs, but not necessarily in this order:

You Only Live Once
Juicebox
Heart in a Cage
Razor Blade
On the Other Side
Electricityscape
Killing Lies
Fearo Sleep
15 Minutes
Vision of Division
Red Light
Evening Sun
The Ize of the World
Ask Me Anything

But don't get your hopes up, folks. The utterly horrendous first single "Juicebox" was released to radio last week. It sounds like Weezer's "Hash Pipe", but worse, and makes me never want to punch a plastic straw through a foil hole ever again. First Impressions of Earth was produced by David Kahne, who has brought the magic sounds of winners like Fishbone, Sugar Ray, 311, and Sublime to life. Longtime Strokes producer Gordon Raphael handled three tracks, however, so maybe they'll at least sound like the French Kicks.

The Strokes currently have a brief festival tour of South America scheduled for later this month, with buzz-gathering club shows in Europe, the UK, Japan, Australia, and North America, as well as a large-scale U.S. tour, in the works. Watch the pretty boys stand in one place and do the same motions over and over again, but in a tropical setting, here:

10-21 Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - Museum of Modern Art
10-22 Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - Armazem 5 Cais Do Porto
10-23 Sao Paulo, Brazil - Sambodromo Anhembi
10-25 Porto Alegre, Brazil - Pavihao Em Frente Ao Aeroporto
10-28 Buenos Aires, Argentina - Club Ciudad
10-29 Santiago, Chile - Espacio Riesco

^ ouch..... ...that's a harsh review... I must admit I am slowly getting tired of them as well as "Juicebox", that song is just plain boring and horrible... and usually they try to release the "best" song first... hopefully the rest of the album is better....

I am sure to get it though on January 3rd.... ...but will it be my last strokes cd ever....!? I hope not...... I have pretty low hopes for their 3rd cd since their talent in my opinion is decreasing cd after cd (like the first cd had 3 awful songs, then the second was just terrible with songs like automatic stop, 12h51.... bla blah blah....).... HOPEFULLY the 3rd will be better... *

*though I don't think it will...... :(

That IS a harsh review. :(
I made my self listen to Juicebox 3 more times today and while I still don't like the beginning at all with that yucky heavy bass-line (which reminds of that silly "Oh Yeah" song from Ferris Beuler's Day Off), I like the ending alot. So it's grown on me already. :)

I just gave it another listen, it's not that bad, I can live with that... ^_^
