Nicole Senenced (and pregnant?)

Say you, say me ... say guilty!

TMZ was in L.A. County Superior Courtroom moments ago, where a pregnant Nicole Richie faced the music for her wrong-way DUI bust in December -- her second DUI conviction in 4 years.

A court commissioner sentenced Richie, represented by uber-lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley, to serve four days in the City or County Jail (her choice!) -- she got credit for a fifth day, for the six hours she served after being busted.

Richie was also fined $2,048, was ordered back to school for 21 days to an alcohol education course and on three years probation.

Richie must report to serve her time by September 28.

The commissioner issued Richie a stern warning, telling her if she she drove drunk again and she actually killed someone she could be charged with murder -- not manslaughter. That's because after her first DUI, Richie agreed that if she drove under the influence and killed someone, she'd be nailed for murder.

The 25-year-old is expected to give birth sometime in January.

A source close to Richie said at today's sentencing she was "stoic and serious, but not emotional."

So she was sentenced and now they are reporting that she is due in January as if she confirmed it? Good Lord, I cannot wait for her interview with Diane Sawyer...hopefully, she will end some of this hearsay and confusion.

Sorry to all the Nicole fans...but I think its kinda BS that she's only getting FOUR days...

^ I guess she has a better lawyer than Paris.:p

Haha yes. I'm thinking maybe they went easier b/c she plead guilty? I'm no law student, but I don't understand why that makes a difference...

I think that too. Depends on the crime but when the person pleads guilty, it shows she kind of realizes what she did so you're "nicer" in your judgement but when the person denies the crime she obviously did, you want a "stronger" pain to let her realizes what she did.

Sorry for my english, nothings really clear

I must admit that I expected her to get a harsher sentence than Paris.

Nicole would have if she didn't cop a plea...Paris tried to get out of her sentence so she had a trial...Nicole didn't want to do that.

Where Paris went wrong is that she refused to do her community service to get in good graces...Nicole is doing that in addition to her sentence.

Nicole Richie to Sit Down with Diane Sawyer

^ Agreed.

On that note, the publicity has only begun.

Nicole Richie will go one-on-one with ABC's Diane Sawyer next week, speaking for the first time since rumors started swirling that she is pregnant, a source tells PEOPLE.

Richie's interview will air in two segments on Good Morning America, Aug. 2 and 3, as well as on 20/20, Aug. 3.

I still don't know if she is pregnant? She looks like she has put on weight but who knows...?

Nicole Richie Sentenced to Jail

Nicole Richie pleaded guilty to DUI and was sentenced to four days in jail on Friday in a Glendale, Calif., courthouse – just one month after her pal Paris Hilton walked free from behind bars.

She also agreed to serve a three-year probation term, and must enroll in an alcohol education program. She was also fined $2,048.

During the hearing, Los Angeles County Commissioner Steven Lubell admonished Richie, saying: "Someone could've gotten killed. You need to understand that driving under the influence is extremely dangerous."

Richie was given the option of serving her time in a paid city jail, which is seen as a cushier facility than a county jail. She was given no surrender date, but must complete her jail time before Sept. 28.

Richie, with her hair pulled back and wearing a loose-fitting black dress, showed up 10 minutes early for her 8:30 a.m. (PST) hearing, arm-in-arm with her boyfriend, Joel Madden, who was also dressed in all black.

Prosecutor Carolina Lugo said outside the courtroom that Richie's reported (and unconfirmed) pregnancy had nothing to do with the plea deal. "That was not discussed and we have no information about that."

More on Nicole
Last month Richie, 25, told David Letterman on his Late Show that she is "scared" to go to jail. But, she added, "I'm willing to face whatever consequences come my way, and I take responsibility for what I've done."

Arrested on Dec. 11 after being spotted driving the wrong way on an L.A. freeway, Richie failed a field sobriety test and admitted to police that she'd smoked marijuana and took Vicodin earlier that evening. She was en route from Madden's home at the time.

She was previously convicted of a DUI in June 2003.

Although California law states that repeat DUI offenders get minimum of three months in jail, the sentence is reduced to only four days if the person accepts a three-year probation term.

I'm guessing she'll debut the bump on Diane Sawyer...at that point she'll be about 4 months along...

^ It feels like the media has confirmed everything but the baby's name!
