Toe Cleavage

Lots of my shoes show 'toe cleavage' - I think it's flattering for the foot, but depends on the style of shoe

I don't really mind it. Sometimes I even kind of like it. Weird, I know.

there's a thread on this already... i'm merging...

i never used to like toe cleavage, but it's grown on me. sometimes it can look like your pump doesn't fit you properly and your toes are just squished in there, but in moderation it can look good.

unfortiantly, i get this with out trying in most shoes as i have feet that are slighlty bigger then a 37 but smaller then a 38 so i can never get shoes to fit properly. my toes dont quite reach the end.

The Green Man did not know that such a thing existed but it does and women are risking permanent disability to improve it. But that's not all. Some women are having parts of their toes lopped off to fit into the latest Manolo Blahniks or Jimmy Choos. Both of which are, apparently, brands of shoes and it seems that their designers no longer feel constrained to construct shoes that hold a normal foot.

Dr. Rock Positano, director of the nonoperative foot and ankle service at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan said that his waiting room is increasingly filled with women hobbled by failed cosmetic foot procedures, those done solely to improve the appearance of the foot or help patients fit into fashionable shoes.

Dr. Suzanne M. Levine, an Upper East Side podiatrist who is an advocate of the procedures says, in response,
Some of these women invest more in their shoes than they do in the stock market,

Take your average woman and give her heels instead of flats, and she'll suddenly get whistles on the street,
The feminist movement has made so much progress hasn't it?

Read more on injuries from foot cosmetic surgery in The New York Times.

^ once you can see the toenail, I think it's a little much

i can't even fathom walking in those... wouldn't they just fall right off?

Toe cleavage is so sexy, probably sexier to me then breast cleavage.

As a guy, I think that a bit of toe cleavage is sexy, although the pics Brian posted above make me feel are way too much.

I think that Christian Louboutin's Pigalle shoes (that Gwen Stafani is wearing on the attached picture) take toe cleavage about as far as you can whilst still looking good.

I didn't know toe cleavage existed until my hubby "schooled" me on it. To me toe cleavage looks like your shoes don't fit.

i don't like toe cleavage all that much.
until i saw this thread, i thought that it was just because i wasn't fashion-educated enough. ;) it makes me laugh that this 'debate' is going on.
