faust, this is new bag (sample) from Sartoria although this photo doesn't do justice to it at all.
and I saw leather soaked for a month in the sea, as a new material.

(I hope this link will work)

Runner, I would love to see this bag upclose. The leather sounds innovative indeed.

That's exactly how the two pieces I saw looked. The store had some LGB stuff too, but it didn't catch my attention (i'm not into racing motif, with the exception of my Watanabe jeans). That shirt was brilliant, but I'm afraid I am too short for it.

I've noticed a common motif of skulls in Number Nine, Undercover, Mastermind, If six was nine, and even Junya Watanabe (the cufflinks he did this season) - is it a current big trend in Japan or is there always a niche market for the punkish trend?

faust..haven't you noticed all the skulls here too?...try h&m...urban outfitters...everywhere...they've gone completely mainstream now...though i know you never step foot in those stores... ;)

 I don't, and it's not even because I'm a snob (as some think). It's just so much less time consuming to just visit my favorite stores knowing that something will catch my interest.

I like the insense stick and the coat hook! I don't really like the lamp, because it looks rather juvenile to me.

i like the lamp, reminds me of day of the dead

i don't like the cobras

Scott, what those pictures of CW store don't account for is that there are two saleswomen in it who wear in the same way their long hair hanging down to their backs and cut squarely across the foreheads. they were reminiscent of magical twin sisters in the film " Mothra".
they wore sweats in cream and lime respectively, which was very cool mysteriously.
and good tone of sitar flowed on.
while Osaka store shows loud and clear that it is CW store even if they didn't put up any sign, Tokyo store actually indicates nothing, and moreover located in a residential area.
it's a solitary store completely. I think it is next to impossible to find. all the factors entertained me in the end.

You know,Runner, that precisely why I've become so immersed in what he's doing. That air of mystery. Even though its beautifully quirky, there's still a certain discretion in his work. Are many people in Osaka familiar with CW or Yukinori for that matter? Its probably a silly question but might explain why its so identifiable...

Btw,regarding the post I completely neglected,I wonder if this film he's done is available in the US to see? I'd like to see that.

Scott, Osaka is a formidable and considerable city.
it has outre power and great possibilities for creating something interesting. it might be beyond Tokyo, in that respect. and of course CW is originally a label that comes from it. I think CW is still deeply rooted there. but definitely CW in itself is not a brand such as lots of people know.
I like Nobukazu Takemura (DJ/musician), who too is from Osaka. both of them seem to me to have the same airs in some way.
as for the film, I will try to find something. wait a moment!

do you think Osaka is a more 'avante garde' kind of city? i have herd that befor.

i guess i'll add my two cents...i dont think its exactly "avante garde", but compared to tokyo, the osakans have more of a no-holds barred approach to fashion. you can see it on the streets and in the mags, and when you happen to see a "special" osakan in a crazy outfit, you have to wonder how they managed to fit all those colors onto one body. it's also apparrent in their attitudes which are more open, friendly, and loud, hence there are some highly interesting items produced ^^

I think so too.
and dishes are strongly seasoned in Osaka. this could be true of their styles, as a rule.
