Tom Hardy’s Star Trek: Nemesis Screen Test with Patrick Stewart

Actor Tom Hardy may now be best known for his portrayal of the evil mastermind Bane in the Christopher Nolan’s latest Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises. However, Star Trek fans will remember Hardy for his role as Jean-Luc Picard’s clone, from ten years prior, as Shinzon in 2002′s Star Trek: Nemesis.

Watch Hardy and Patrick Stewart in some of the initial screen tests compared to the actual film footage for Nemesis below.

The Dark Knight actor Tom Hardy will fight in a charity boxing match

The Dark Knight Rises actor Tom Hardy - who played a cage fighter in 2011 movie Warrior - wants to get in the ring with the professional heavyweight boxer, David Haye nicknamed the Hayemaker, but only if the money raised goes to good causes such as Help for Heroes, the Prince's Trust, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Bowel Cancer Research and homeless charity FLACK.

The 34-year-old star - who is currently in the Congo filming a TV documentary about survival - told The Sun newspaper: "Hardy v Hayemaker? No problem. Let me take my make-up off first. I'll fight him as soon as I get back from the Congo with my mates if he wants.

"I've never fought a professional heavyweight, it'll be an experience.

"I would obviously prefer my first professional fight to be against someone in my weight category but hey-ho."

But Tom has played down his chances of victory in the fight and admits his situation is similar to Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke, who embarked on a three-year boxing career in the early 1990s before retiring.

He added: "Let's have it. We all know how this is going to end don't we ... not good for Tommy.

"This is sort of like Mickey Rourke. But Mickey's a better actor and boxer than me. How about singing lessons instead?"

While Tom wants to take up boxing, David recently admitted he is keen to kick-start an acting career and play a bad guy similar to Tom's terrifying alter-ego Bane in The Dark Knight Rises.

He told BANG Showbiz: "I think it would be easier to play a hero at the moment, but I would like to play a villain and Bane just looks so vicious. If someone finds a baddie for me to play then I reckon I could pull that part off.

"I really want to learn to act, I've had to train so hard for so many years that it'll be interesting having to learn something all over again."

Tom Hardy To Climb 'Everest' With Doug Liman

To say that Doug Liman has a lot on his plate would be an understatement. Currently shooting "All You Need Is Kill" with Tom Cruise, the director has numerous projects cooking on the side including: the documentary "Reckoning With Torture: Memos And Testimonies From The War On Terror"; a movie about Two-Gun Cohen; an adaptation of Jack Finney's "Time And Again"; the spy flick "The Tourist" and the mountain climbing adventure "Everest." And it's the latter that has just gained a bit of momentum.

Deadline reports that Tom Hardy is in early talks to star to "Everest" taking the role of famed climber George Mallory. Based on the book "Paths Of Glory" by Jeffrey Archer (title changed for obvious reasons), the story will tell the true tale of the first man to climb Mount Everest. Mallory famously took three tries before reaching the summit but his determination was an inspiration to a scarred Britain just coming out of World War I. While there is some debate as to whether or not he reached the true peak of the mountain, he is largely credited for having accomplished the task. And of course, Mallory is also known for answering the question of why he wanted to do it by simply stating, "Because it's there."

Ready to go with a script by "Up In The Air" scribe Sheldon Turner, "Everest" will be Liman's next picture after 'Kill' and presumably Hardy's followup with "Mad Max: Fury Road." It's yet another intriguing turn from the actor who impressively changes skin each time out, as well as another name director to add to his CV, and we'll definitely be excited to it all come together.
