Tom Scott | Page 2 | the Fashion Spot

Tom Scott

I think I might well end up specialising in it for a few months on my current course before going onto fashion at university...I'll learn all the garment construction etc there I feel the textiles aspect would give my ideas a different edge and it's a good background to go into fashion, because otherwise my thoughts might end up being one sided.

I've just looked at the stuff again, and I'd love to see people out and about wearing this sort of knitwear, it's very rare that I'd even see anything close to it up here in newcastle.

Just noticed that Tom Scott designed a t-shirt for hintmag.com's Hint Shop - they're selling it in long- and shortsleeved versions, for $55 and $45 respectively:

Tom Scott can tell a good yarn. The Scotland-schooled, New York-based designer knits together elaborate sweaters, dresses, tops and scarves made of cashmere and lambswool, resulting in asymmetrical sleeves, collars and silhouettes, often fusing garment with accessory. Spotted on the backs of Cindy Sherman, Gwen Stefani and Michael Stipe, the line is carried by Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman and Zero. Now, exclusively for the Hint Shop, the knit wit has unraveled and printed a distorted jersey stitch to the front of unisex shirts, available in black-on-white short-sleeve or white-on-black long-sleeve tees. There's no better way to get into the fashion fray.

Too bad it's not a real panel sewn into the t'shirt :(
