The prices are similar to H&M's I think, they're not that bad.

oh so they mustve lowered them a bit more than what they were selling things for once they initially started shipping over here.

Actually i should've clarified that I think their basics are similar to H&M and maybe even the Gap pricewise but their items like the Unique or Preen stuff is obviously going to be expensive. I think they could've lowered their prices a little bit because I (and others) certainly can't afford much from the store but whatever.

are any new yorkers here going to the opening?

No I haven't been to the store yet, but I'll be going to NY next week and I'm definitely going to go. Hopefully the stuff I want won't be sold out by the time I get there.

ive been, and some things are right on the exchange rate from the UK stores, and some are marked up by about 10-30 dollars. tops were mostly $40-60; jeans were $60-80; shoes were $90-$200+ (emma cook boots were $310); dresses were $80-$120. i think the KM stuff was ridiculously overpriced -- floral dress for $100? eesh. but i'd always thought her line was overpriced.

I plan on waiting till June or July before I go to the store here, I don't want to deal with enormous crowds, they make me nervous and aggravated when I'm shopping. Was the opening day packed?

it was ridiculous. i got there an hour before opening, and by then the line was at the back of the building. when the store was about to open, the line had done a full circle around the block and was wrapped around. even hours after opening, the wait to get in was over an hour long. and of course, that doesnt include the lines inside for fitting rooms and the tills.

i wasn't all that excited about the current collection so i only bought a pair of jeans ($80) and the ostrich feather skirt ($130). they give 10% off to students, and also gave out surprise gift cards to early birds. mine was only $5 but hey, free money.

that's really too bad. they went with designer pricing, and i was hoping for the cheap chic route argh. that's really too bad.
