TOPSHOP NYC Now Open!

OK, next is Topshop in Paris, please!

^ i think it's a bit unwearable and overwhelming. lots of neons and bright graphics.

the topshop is actually ridiculous.. like i don't even know why anyone would even want to go in during the first six months of its arrival because the line is constantly ridiculous, by the time you get in everything you wanted is gone, its not even that cheap.. the hype is just ridiculous. the other day the line was literally around the block.
i dont know.. im just going to let things cool down a bit before actually shopping there.

That's exactly how I feel about it, I can't stand lines and waiting around, I'm avoiding it until the hype blows over. It's easier to get everything online anyway, no fighting for a piece lol

it was like a zoo in there yesterday.it was like H&M but twice the price...

^^

couldn't agree more.
it's like H&M in terms of quality but pricier.
from a guy's perspective, i couldn't find anything i liked.
i went on opening day and waited 30 mins.

i was really expecting much more. their stuff looks nicer on line, but in person, the quality is just not there.

i really like those knock off chloe studded boots they have online but they are 160$ and i have no way of getting the real ones? do you think they are worth it or should I just forget it?

Waiting for the hype to die down is the best thing to do. When H&M first came to L.A. the lines were long and it made it hard to shop because the stores were so packed.

"Page Six" is reporting that the line to get into Topshop isn't necessary, but rather a publicity stunt to make the store look popular. Nightclub-esque doormen are "purposely not letting in enough people at once, so that there are always people waiting outside," says a source. Meh, as long as they don't give preference to wannabe Eurotrash and finance types with no game, we think we'll survive.

I don't know if that's true (Page Six isn't the most reliable source) - but this could be a reason for a long lines. I'm really not impressed with the stuff that's up on their site. I'm hoping the pieces look better in person than online.

Cathy Horyn on On the Runway mentioned this:
"On Tuesday, we were at the Michael Kors shop on Prince Street, and we noticed a cute mini trench coat—well-made (in China, I believe) and at $200, a much better value and fit than a $400 version at nearby Topshop."

Is that for real? $400 for a coat in Topshop? I've never seen anything that expensive in Topshop in Ireland. It basically goes against the whole 'ethos' of Topshop. Or, it msut be the greatest coat in the whole of the world.

That's odd because when I went there last week there was no line and they seemed to have much of the stuff that sells out fast in stock. I probably got lucky but regarding the clothes I wasn't impressed, I walked away with some leggings and that was it. they did give me a free purse thing though which was cool.

sounds like people aren't very impressed :( i'm still gutted about the inflated prices
